Striker Dinh Bac scored a double to help U22 Vietnam defeat U22 Laos 2-1 in the opening match of Group B of men's football at SEA Games 33.

U22 Vietnam entered the game with an attacking style of play, applying great pressure. But against a weak opponent, coach Kim Sang Sik's team appeared quite confused. Their attacking situations were quite open, but they lacked precision in decisive situations.

In addition, the defense of U22 Laos played bravely and focused. Therefore, it was not until the 28th minute that U22 Vietnam was able to open the score. From a move on the right wing, Minh Phuc crossed past goalkeeper Lokphathip for Dinh Bac to tap the ball into the empty net to open the score 1-0.
