A place filled with millennial heritage

The land of West Lake with its unique cultural and historical values ​​is known as the land of "Sacred Dragons Converging" with the terrain of "Dragon and Phoenix Converging on the Wall, Phoenix Drinking Water". According to Feng Shui, around the lake is a land with many shapes of sacred objects: the Quan Thanh Temple side is the shape of a Phoenix, the Yen Ninh side is the shape of a Dragon, the Quang Ba side is the shape of a Turtle, the Quan La side is the shape of a Horse, the Ngu Xa side is the shape of a Unicorn. All of these "spiritual objects" face West Lake. West Lake is the center of a "sacred land".

Around West Lake is a cultural sedimentary area with historical relics bearing the strong imprint of the thousand-year-old Thang Long Citadel such as: Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, Tay Ho Palace, Dong Co Temple... West Lake has 71 relics, of which 40 relics have been ranked and become famous destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

Around the lake there is also a strip of craft villages serving the daily life of the capital's people: Yen Thai do paper, Nhat Tan peach blossoms, Tu Lien kumquat trees, growing lotus and making lotus tea in Quang An...

Not only is it a famous scenic spot in the capital, the magical spatial form of West Lake, along with the system of overlapping and interwoven villages, has created a special scenic spot for a sacred area of ​​the cultural capital.

Realizing the importance of national cultural heritage, in recent years, Tay Ho ward has been doing a good job of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage.

Strengthening the application of information technology in cultural management

Up to now, the work of managing, protecting and promoting the value of relics has been basically carried out by the Ward People's Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and the Decision of the City People's Committee on Regulations on managing, protecting and promoting the value of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots.

Tay Ho Ward has just organized a Conference to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2025); Online Exhibition "Han Nom Tay Ho". Accordingly, the ward has promptly issued a decision to establish Sub-committees to manage relics. Timely proposed and invested in the preservation, restoration and embellishment of 17 projects, of which 7 projects have been completed with the State budget and socialized funds contributed by the people. 100% of festivals in the area are organized solemnly, practically, effectively, in accordance with the scale and content of the festival; rituals are performed solemnly, ensuring traditional rituals, without any violent, offensive phenomena, contrary to the traditions and customs of the locality and the nation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Tay Ho Ward People's Committee Nguyen Viet Cuong acknowledged and commended the elders, men and women in the relic management subcommittee, dignitaries, temple keepers, and abbots who have actively contributed to the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage in the ward in recent times.

Comrade Nguyen Viet Cuong said that entering 2026 - an important pivotal year to implement the goals of cultural and social development, Tay Ho ward identified the development of cultural industry as a strategic direction in the process of shifting the economic structure to culture - services - tourism. The ward will focus on taking advantage of the West Lake space with the rich cultural sediments of Thang Long Citadel and the system of relics, unique landscapes, and unique heritages, building the "West Lake Cultural Industry Center" to promote cultural values ​​to serve socio-economic development.

To continue promoting the value of cultural heritage in the area, Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Nguyen Viet Cuong requested departments, branches, organizations, cadres and people of Tay Ho Ward to continue to thoroughly grasp, widely propagate and seriously and effectively implement the Party's policies, resolutions and directives on culture. Continue to promote the work of preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of cultural heritage in the area.

Coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to conduct surveys and develop dossiers to propose the ranking of special national monuments for Kim Lien Pagoda and Tran Quoc Pagoda. Promote the value of national intangible heritage: Dong Co Temple Loyalty Oath, Nhat Tan Communal House Festival, National Treasures: Pair of stone dragons at the Trich Sai Communal House.

Continue to carry out the task of inventorying intangible cultural heritage in the area. Preserve, maintain, and restore festivals associated with historical and cultural relics. Guide the organization of festivals in accordance with regulations, preserve traditional values, ensure civilization and safety. Include folk performances and traditional rituals in the festival program.

At the same time, continue to invest in developing advantageous cultural industries: Cultural tourism, craft villages, performing arts and folk performances, cuisine , exhibitions. Build "West Lake folk art and cultural performance space" at some key relics to preserve and promote the art of Ca Tru, Chau Van singing, and attract domestic and international tourists.

Strengthening the application of information technology and digital transformation to improve the effectiveness of cultural management; Continuing to invest in upgrading, updating, editing, and supplementing the Tay Ho 360 system. Applying digital transformation in the field of information - culture - sports - tourism in Tay Ho ward; Building a digital map of Tay Ho relics - culture - tourism; Deploying an AI camera system to manage relics...

With values ​​accumulated from the past to the present, developing cultural heritage and landscape tourism is the direction for West Lake to become a new cultural and creative center of Hanoi in the digital industrial era.
