Coffee is an important industrial crop of Quang Tri province with more than 3,900 hectares, most concentrated in the communes of Huong Phung, Khe Sanh, Tan Lap and A Doi. The large raw material area has created a foundation for the locality to boost production and expand the consumption market.
In recent times, Quang Tri has implemented many solutions to improve coffee quality such as supporting replanting, developing new varieties, building sustainable production models and implementing agroforestry projects. These policies aim to increase productivity, stabilize quality and build a brand for local coffee.
The province also promotes the formation of value chains from production to processing, connecting businesses with cooperatives and farmers. Coffee growers are supported in applying new techniques, building specialized growing areas and accessing modern processing technology, thereby improving income and creating more jobs for local workers.
Currently, Quang Tri has more than 1,000 hectares of coffee produced under a joint model, with quality certification, mainly in Huong Phung and Khe Sanh. Many cooperatives have been formed, supplying clean coffee and meeting OCOP standards from 3 to 5 stars. Notably, on November 4, 2025, Khe Sanh coffee was granted a certificate of geographical indication protection, creating momentum for the brand to reach further in the domestic and foreign markets.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market increased slightly on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery in January 2026: Up 16 USD/ton, to 4,331 USD/ton.
Delivery in March 2026: Up 32 USD/ton, to 4,244 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
December 2025 delivery: Up 5.45 cents/lb, to 409.2 cents/lb.
March 2026 delivery: Up 3.7 cents/lb, to 376.15 cents/lb.
Robusta coffee futures are at their lowest in about a week and a half as the market monitors the impact of storms and floods in Vietnam, the top robusta producer. Bad weather has slowed the harvest and caused many cherries to fall.
Some traders believe production could remain stable, while others predict a 5% to 10% drop. This difference keeps the market volatile with each new update on raw material areas.
Arabica prices fell less as the Brazilian real strengthened, hitting a two-week high against the dollar. The stronger currency makes Brazilian farmers less willing to sell, helping to keep arabica prices more stable.
Coffee exports from Brazil to the U.S. have been slow despite the removal of tariffs, but analysts expect shipments to pick up early next year as supplies replenish.
