Quang Tri aims for green agriculture - circular agriculture - responsible agriculture

QTO - On the morning of December 8, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and Que Lam Group to organize a conference to summarize the models of organic and circular agricultural economy, Que Lam value chain in the province and sign a cooperation agreement for the development period 2026 - 2030.

On the side of Quang Tri province, attending were comrades: Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Truong An Ninh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Le Van Bao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Thi Han, Secretary of the Dong Hoi Ward Party Committee; leaders and former leaders of Quang Tri province and a number of provinces and cities in the Central region; leaders of departments, branches, localities, businesses and scientists .

After more than 4 years of cooperation with Que Lam Group, many production models in Quang Tri province have achieved positive results. From 2023 to 2025, the province has formed and expanded a series of models of linking livestock and crop production in the direction of organic, circular, and value chain linkage.

The number of pigs in the Que Lam chain increased from 900 in 2023 to 1,750 in 2025; the organic rice area increased from 150ha to 450ha; the area of ​​straw treatment without burning fields reached 2,100ha in 2025. More than 1,000 officials and farmers were trained in organic and circular production. Notably, the process of raising sows combined with organic pork in Que Lam with biosafety is assessed to bring clear economic efficiency, with an average profit of 1.2 - 1.5 million VND/pig; at the same time, reducing environmental pollution in production.

In the period of 2026 - 2030, Quang Tri aims to develop 70,000 pigs in the Que Lam chain, 500 hectares of organic rice, 8,000 hectares of straw treatment without burning fields and train more than 10,000 officials and farmers in organic production. The province also proposed to issue stronger support policies and proposed to build an organic - circular agricultural complex, a 4F ecosystem of 30 - 50 hectares.

At the conference, delegates exchanged, discussed, and contributed many ideas, providing insightful perspectives, helping to better define the direction, solutions, and coordination mechanisms between parties in the process of cooperation in developing organic agriculture, circular agriculture, and value chains.

The parties signed a memorandum of cooperation for the period 2026 - 2030 with many key contents on expanding organic and circular production models in a professional, controlled and stable output direction. Building a closed value chain from material supply - production organization - processing - product commercialization. Strengthening the treatment of agricultural by-products towards nutritional regeneration, environmental protection and ensuring economic benefits for people. Promoting the application of biotechnology and digital technology in production process management and traceability. Developing a core farmer training network, gradually affirming the role of cooperatives and associated organizations in production organization. Cooperating to deploy the 4F Organic Agriculture Complex - Circular Economy Ecosystem in Quang Tri.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, emphasized the role of the elderly in agricultural economic development. At the same time, he requested localities to focus on improving capacity in organic agricultural production, circular economy, especially models linked with Que Lam Group; continue to improve the activities of the Association of the Elderly at commune and ward levels to further promote the role of the Association and the elderly.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Mr. Le Van Bao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested that departments and branches need to specify the cooperation content into annual plans; closely coordinate in technical guidance, attract resources and support product consumption, in which the Department of Agriculture and Environment plays a core role in coordinating and advising on the development of implementation plans. Communes and wards proactively select models suitable for each region; closely connect businesses and farmers; create favorable conditions for businesses to operate; coordinate in monitoring production processes, and at the same time promote the role of cooperatives and cooperative groups in organizing production and linking product consumption.

Comrade Le Van Bao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, also hopes that Que Lam Group will continue to provide technical guidance, transfer technology, supply organic materials, monitor processes and ensure product consumption for farmers. Provide stronger support for cooperatives and farmers in approaching new models; coordinate and complete procedures to soon implement the 4F Organic - Circular Agriculture Complex Project, thereby opening up a new approach for Quang Tri agriculture: Green agriculture - circular agriculture - responsible agriculture.
