Weddings in the 1990s evoke a very special sense of nostalgia, situated during a transitional period between the difficult subsidy era and the open-door policy period.

Brides of that era often wore long, white veil gloves that reached their elbows. Their makeup was particularly striking: a face powdered with bright white powder, a vivid red lipstick, blue or purple eyeshadow, and delicate, willow-leaf eyebrows. They typically wore a large plastic crown or a very large veil flower on their head.
