Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh jointly organized the ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the site as a World Cultural Heritage site.

The series of events at Yen Tu took place from December 18-22, with the highlight being the commemoration ceremony for the 717th anniversary of the passing into Nirvana of Emperor Tran Nhan Tong and the ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac complex of historical and scenic sites as a World Cultural Heritage site. The event was organized by Quang Ninh province in coordination with Bac Ninh province and Hai Phong city.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, said: "To mark this event, Quang Ninh province is organizing a week-long series of interconnected events, ranging from culture and cuisine to learning about Truc Lam Buddhism and a concert program, so that people and tourists can participate, connect, and experience activities in Quang Ninh."

The ceremony announcing the outstanding universal value of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiet Bac World Cultural Heritage site took place on the evening of August 17th.

Specifically, the series of activities for the Grand Commemoration Ceremony marking the 717th anniversary of the Nirvana of Emperor Tran Nhan Tong includes the "Yen Tu - Source of Wisdom" Retreat (7th Edition); a Lantern Festival commemoration; and a ceremony of offering to Buddha and ancestors, and circumambulating the Hue Quang pagoda. The Grand Commemoration Ceremony will take place on December 20th.

The ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac complex of historical sites and scenic spots as a World Cultural Heritage site will be held at 8 PM on December 20th at Minh Tam Square, Yen Tu Historical and Scenic Site, Yen Tu Ward.

Alongside this, the Yen Tu Festival "Journey of World Heritage, Quintessence" will feature numerous activities: an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the thousand-year-old heritage site "Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiet Bac"; a Trade Fair - OCOP and Food Festival; cultural exchange and performances, folk games; a Heritage Film Week; and the 2025 Quang Ninh Open Cycling Race "Returning to the Land of Heritage"... This series of events contributes to honoring the historical and cultural values ​​and spreading the image of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiet Bac World Cultural Heritage site to a wide audience of people and tourists.

Quang Ninh province will also organize a New Year's Eve Countdown event at 30/10 Square (Ha Long ward) on December 31st, with an expected attendance of nearly 50,000 people. This is the final highlight event of 2025 for the locality, marking the successful series of large-scale cultural and tourism events held throughout the past year, including two concerts that attracted thousands of spectators each night and left many outstanding impressions.
