First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Quoc Phong presented the "National Volunteer" Award to singer Hoa Minzy. |
This year, through 233 applications from provinces, city unions, organizations and individuals across the country, the National Voting Council selected 20 outstanding collectives and individuals in volunteer activities in 2025. Singer Hoa Minzy (Nguyen Thi Hoa) is named among 10 individuals receiving the "National Volunteer" award in 2025.
Sharing at the program, Mr. Hoang Minh Thanh - who once drove a canoe into the flood to support the people of Quang Tri , shared that, during the stormy days, the cries for help in the middle of the night made it impossible for him and the club members to stand outside. Everyone voluntarily coordinated and mobilized vehicles to provide timely relief.
According to Mr. Thanh, the moments of bringing people to safety are the motivation for him to continue to devote himself and his success today is thanks to the solidarity of the whole club.
Since its inception (2011) up to now, the "National Volunteer" Award has honored nearly 300 outstanding groups and individuals, recognizing the persistent contributions of domestic and international volunteers.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded three subsidiary prizes to 1 collective and 1 individual with the most votes on the Central Youth Union Information Portal Fanpage. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City is the collective with the most nominations for the "National Volunteer" Award in 2025.
Honored at the 2025 "Creative Youth" Award, Hoang Bao Long, a 11th grade Physics student at Cao Bang High School for the Gifted, also brought his inspirational story. Representing the group of authors of the AI Sentinel project, Bao Long said that the idea came from personal experiences during natural disasters and floods. During a major storm, the family received news that their loved ones were found safe after the flood, making Long think deeply about applying technology to protect the community from natural disaster risks.
Bao Long said: "I used to live with my father - a border guard. During the stressful days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed the hardships of the frontline forces and wanted to contribute something practical to society. The practical learning environment and STEM lectures have reinforced that orientation, allowing me and my friends to deploy AI Sentinel."
AI Sentinel is a system capable of intelligent security identification such as detecting strangers in protected areas, automatically taking photos, analyzing data and sending warnings to community managers, contributing to improving safety and risk prevention.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded the National "Creative Youth" Award 2025 to 43 outstanding creative works, solutions and products. For this award, the Organizing Committee received 204 nominations from 31 provincial, municipal and affiliated unions.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Youth Union, said that the honored young people are typical representatives of Vietnamese youth today, those who are always ready to be present in difficult places, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take on new tasks. Each award is a beautiful story about silent sacrifice, efforts to rise up with love and responsibility for the community and the Fatherland.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Resolution 57/NQ-TW of the Politburo has opened up a new development space, creating motivation for young people to promote their intelligence and pioneering spirit in science - technology, creative startups and digital economy. This year's award-winning authors are vivid proof of that policy, bringing many digital transformation solutions, green economic models, circular economy and environmental protection initiatives, affirming the intelligence and creativity of Vietnamese people.
Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam hopes that young people will maintain their ideals, be creative, dedicated and continue to nurture the spirit of volunteering, so that humanity and responsibility become the hallmark of Vietnamese youth.
