The Vietnamese women's volleyball team had to wait for over two hours at the airport.
An ironic situation occurred when it wasn't until after 3 PM (two hours after landing) that members of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team were finally able to board the vehicles arranged by the organizers. It is known that on the afternoon of December 8th, many sports delegations from various countries landed at Bangkok airport, causing confusion in the organizing committee's coordination.
More notably, instead of being provided with separate transportation, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had to share a bus with the taekwondo referees' delegation. However, the two delegations were not staying in the same hotel, so the shuttle bus had to go to the referees' accommodation first before taking the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to their training camp.

When the Vietnamese women's volleyball team arrived at the hotel, it was already 4 PM. Meanwhile, the training session scheduled by the organizers for Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team was at 4:20 PM. The mere 20 minutes was insufficient for the athletes to check in, unpack their luggage, and cope with the fatigue from their long journey. Therefore, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team canceled their first training session in Bangkok.
"Not healthy enough to exercise"
When asked about the team's morale, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared: "Before today, the athletes' condition was basically very good. But today, at this moment, everyone is very tired. There has never been a SEA Games where the reception was like this year. We left at 5 am and have been here since then. We only flew to Thailand for a little over an hour, and we still haven't been able to get to our rooms. This afternoon, we had a training session, but we had to cancel it because we didn't have enough energy to train anymore."

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said the team had to cancel their first training session in Bangkok.

Putting aside the inconveniences of the first day, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will dedicate the entire evening to recovery. According to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the entire team will only have the morning of December 9th to train before embarking on a packed schedule of matches.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group B with Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia. In their opening match, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates will face the Myanmar women's volleyball team at 3 PM on November 10th.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the members of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had to spend a considerable amount of extra time completing the check-in procedures.
