Vietnam women's volleyball team had to wait more than 2 hours at the airport
An ironic situation occurred when it was not until after 3 p.m. (that is, after 2 hours of waiting at the airport since landing) that the members of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team were able to set foot on the pick-up vehicle arranged by the organizing committee. It is known that on the afternoon of December 8, many sports delegations from other countries landed at the airport in the capital Bangkok, thereby creating confusion in the coordination of the organizing committee.
More importantly, instead of being provided with separate vehicles, the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team had to travel on a shared bus with the taekwondo referees. However, the two groups were not staying at the same hotel, so the shuttle bus had to go around to the referees’ accommodation first, then take the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team to the meeting place.

When the Vietnamese women's volleyball team arrived at the hotel, it was already 4:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the training schedule that the organizers had arranged for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team was 4:20 p.m. The mere 20 minutes was not enough time for the athletes to check in, drop off their luggage, and the fatigue after the long journey. Therefore, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team canceled their first training session in Bangkok.
"Not healthy enough to exercise"
When asked about the team's spirit at the moment, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared: "Before today, the athletes' condition was basically very good. But today, at the present time, everyone is very tired. There has never been a SEA Games with a reception like this year. We left at 5am until now. It was only a flight of more than 1 hour to Thailand, but up to now we still haven't been able to go to the room. This afternoon, we had a practice session but had to cancel it because we were not healthy enough to practice anymore."

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said the team had to cancel its first training session in Bangkok.

Putting aside the inconveniences of the first day, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will spend the entire evening recovering. According to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the team will only have one morning left on December 9 to practice, before entering a busy competition schedule.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team is in Group B with Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia. In the opening match, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates will face the Myanmar women’s volleyball team at 3 p.m. on November 10.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the members of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had to spend quite a bit of time to complete check-in procedures.
