
The event was directed by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Ho Chi Minh Museum in coordination with the Department of Political Theory and the Archives Department of the Central Party Office, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (January 30, 1950 - January 30, 2025) and the 108th anniversary of the Great October Revolution in Russia (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2025).
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum Vu Manh Ha emphasized: President Ho Chi Minh - Hero of national liberation, Outstanding cultural figure, Great leader of the Vietnamese people and close friend of the Russian people, as well as the people of the member countries of the former Soviet Union. He laid a solid foundation and constantly cultivated the Vietnam - Soviet Union friendship, now the Vietnam - Russian Federation relationship.

On the journey to find a way to save the country, in the light of the Russian October Revolution, directly the Theses of V.I. Lenin on the national and colonial questions, Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh chose and led the Vietnamese revolution to follow the path of the October Revolution. He went to the Soviet Union to live, study and carry out revolutionary activities, thereby building a close comradeship with the leaders of the Party, State and people of the Soviet Union. Following the path of the October Revolution, President Ho Chi Minh founded the Communist Party of Vietnam , led the Vietnamese people to fight for national liberation, and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Since Vietnam gained independence in 1945, as President, President Ho Chi Minh visited the Soviet Union many times. Through those visits, he clearly experienced the achievements of the Soviet Union in the process of building socialism, promoting cooperative relations and from here the Vietnamese revolution always received the support and sincere and wholehearted help of the Party, Government and people of the Soviet Union, gradually completing the people's national democratic revolution, moving forward to build socialism.
With nearly 300 carefully selected photos, documents and typical artifacts, including rare and newly collected documents and artifacts, the special exhibition "Ho Chi Minh's Footprints in the Homeland of the October Revolution" introduces to the public the journey following the revolutionary footsteps of Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh in Russia in the years 1923 - 1924, 1927, 1934 - 1938, when he traveled to find a way to save the country, as well as the journey following the footsteps of friendship that President Ho Chi Minh, in his capacity as President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), left across the vast Soviet Union. President Ho Chi Minh's footprints in the Homeland of the October Revolution are a clear demonstration of the friendship between the two countries, expressing his affection for the Russian people as well as the people of the Soviet Union's member countries.

The thematic exhibition consists of 3 parts. Part I has the theme of The Man in Search of the Shape of the Country - Journey through Russia, including images, documents, and artifacts about the 1920s, when, after many years of wandering in search of a way to save the country, Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh came across Lenin's "First Draft of Theses on the National and Colonial Questions" and saw in it the path to national liberation. From there, he entered the path of proletarian revolution under the light of the Russian October Revolution and Marxism-Leninism.

Part II has the theme Across the vast Soviet Union - Deepening friendship, including images, documents, and artifacts from after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born. Vietnam and the Soviet Union established official diplomatic relations in 1950. As President, President Ho Chi Minh visited the Soviet Union many times, diligently cultivating the traditional friendship between the two countries. He visited all 15 member republics of the Soviet Union, leaving footprints of friendship across the vast Soviet Union.

Part III, with the theme of Vietnam - Russia Friendship, includes documents, images, and artifacts showing the 75-year journey of Vietnam - Russia friendship, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and generations of leaders of the two countries, painstakingly built, and jointly cultivated by the people of the two countries...
In particular, at this thematic exhibition, the Ho Chi Minh Museum introduces to the public a number of documents and artifacts related to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, newly collected from the Russian Federation, including: The book of the 5th World Congress of the Communist International in 1924, donated to the Museum by lecturer Svetlana Glazunova and student Pavel Bolshkov from the Vietnamese language department of the Moscow State University of International Relations in September 2025; photos of the visit to the Soviet Union in 1955 along with President Ho Chi Minh's guestbook in the Guest of Honor of the Ural Geological Museum, donated to the Ho Chi Minh Museum by the State Archives of Sverdlovsk Province and the Ural Geological Museum, Russian Federation, in July 2025...
The exhibition is open to the public until April 2026.
