The My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board announced that it is conducting 3D scanning of the entire system of temples, towers, and architectural ruins, and has selected 200 representative artifacts to be digitized between now and the end of 2025.

This technology allows for the precise recording of the structure, materials, dimensions, and extent of damage of each building, creating a data foundation for restoration and rehabilitation when needed.

My Son currently comprises 60 ruins, three architectural remains, and over 2,200 artifacts. Over the decades, wars, natural disasters, and natural erosion have partially destroyed many ancient towers, and some treasures have seriously deteriorated.

3D scanning helps to accurately preserve the current state of the historical site, while simultaneously creating a complete 3D model based on the scanned data, replacing the old, inconsistent documentation system.

The collected data will be stored on a separate server system with powerful configuration, optimized for management and sharing.

The My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board also plans to integrate 3D models onto its website platform to enhance the digital experience for tourists, opening up a new approach to the treasure trove of Cham art.

Over the years, My Son has been one of the pioneering units in applying digital technology in the inventory and storage of Cham artifacts.

Since 2003, the unit has been numbering, inventorying artifacts, and entering data into specialized software. Many archaeological artifacts have also been described, copied, 3D scanned, and stored since 2006.

Several temple structures have been digitized through internationally funded projects, particularly in 2018 with the support of Italian and Indian experts, where more than 1,000 artifacts from tower groups G, K, and H were digitized, coded, and scientifically archived.

In addition to digitizing artifacts and relics, the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board is also deploying an AI camera system to monitor the site, and installing an IP audio system at the tower clusters and main tourist routes. This system will provide automated information about the site, support the dissemination of regulations, and contribute to raising community awareness in preserving the heritage.

Alongside conservation efforts, numerous digital technology applications are also being developed to promote the value of My Son to tourists, further affirming the unit's pioneering role in the digital transformation of the heritage sector.
