The new Bao Ha commune was merged from 5 communes including Bao Ha, Kim Son, Cam Con (old Bao Yen district), Tan An, Tan Thuong (old Van Ban district) with 72 villages and hamlets, a total area of about 243 km2 and nearly 34,000 people.

Visiting the villages in Bao Ha commune, it is easy to see the clear change in the rural appearance. The spacious cement concrete roads connecting the residential areas create favorable conditions for travel, trade and daily life of the people.
Not only has the infrastructure been improved, many households have also actively developed the economy , cultivated crops, and raised livestock, contributing to improving their lives. Each village and hamlet is like a vivid picture, reflecting the efforts of the government and people in building new rural areas.

Transportation - the foundation of new rural areas
In the New Rural Development Program, the transportation criteria are always a big challenge, requiring significant resources and community consensus.
In Bao Ha commune, thanks to the close coordination between the government and the people following the motto "State and People work together", many roads have been built, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and promoting the local economy.
Chairman of Bao Ha Commune People's Committee - Tran Trung Kien said that the whole commune has more than 2,000 households donating nearly 392 hectares of land to build roads.
“Where there is a road, there is development,” Mr. Kien emphasized.
Thanks to that, goods circulate smoothly, people are convenient in agricultural production, connecting villages, hamlets and neighboring localities.
Many exemplary individuals have made important contributions to the movement of donating land for road construction. The family of Ms. Luc Thi Lien, Luc village, donated more than 1 hectare of land to open a road connecting Luc village with Lang Dam village (Lam Giang commune).
The head of Lien Ha 3 village also donated nearly 4,000 square meters of his family's garden and hill land to develop 5 inter-village and alley roads, making trade and production more convenient.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Toan - Head of Lien Ha 3 village shared: In addition to provincial and national roads, the roads connecting villages and hamlets are all built by people donating land. Therefore, advocacy and propaganda work is very important. When people understand the long-term benefits, they are willing to donate land.
Thanks to the exemplary spirit of the staff and the voluntary spirit of the people, the rural traffic system in Bao Ha has been completed, improving the efficiency of management and operation of the grassroots government and promoting the proactive and creative role of the community.
Leverage for economic and social development
Currently, Bao Ha commune has 231 rural traffic routes with a total length of nearly 417 km, of which more than 411 km have been completed and maintained, and 5.1 km are under construction.

Concrete roads instead of dirt roads not only make travel more convenient and safe, but also become clear evidence of rural infrastructure development.
A typical project is the road from Luc village (Bao Ha commune) to Lang Dam village (Lang Thip, Lam Giang commune) with a length of 5.5 km, a 6 m wide base, a 3.5 m road surface, and a drainage system, ensuring convenient traffic and connection between localities.

The family of Ms. Luc Thi Lien - Luc village, donated more than 1 hectare of land to open a road connecting Luc village with Lang Dam village.
Ms. Luc Thi Lien shared: Although we regret losing the land, we think about the long-term future of the community. After discussion, the family agreed to donate a part of the land to build a road to serve the common development of the locality.
Convenient transportation has opened up many opportunities for economic development. Because when roads are opened, travel is convenient, transportation costs are reduced, buyers come directly to purchase products, so the value of agricultural products and goods increases.
Thanks to that, many effective economic models were born; fruit tree, cinnamon and livestock areas were expanded, contributing to increasing people's income.
At the same time, through donating land and contributing to road construction, the community is more closely connected, promoting the spirit of solidarity "State and People work together".

The transportation system also facilitates people's access to health care services, education and new rural support programs more conveniently.
The success of the rural transport system development in Bao Ha is not only a story of land donation to open roads and pour concrete, but also the trust and consensus of the people and the exemplary spirit of cadres and party members.
Chairman of Bao Ha Commune People's Committee Tran Trung Kien emphasized: Transportation is the lifeblood of rural areas. When people travel conveniently and transport agricultural products easily, they are confident in investing in production and promoting economic development. This is the foundation for Bao Ha to move faster on the new rural road, towards sustainable development.

The winding concrete roads through villages and hamlets are vivid evidence of the process of realizing the goal of building new rural areas in Bao Ha, affirming that "The State and the People working together" is the key to opening a bright future for the countryside.
