On December 5, a delegation of medical staff from Hai Phong city, including 25 doctors and nurses from the Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, Hai Duong Rehabilitation Hospital, Hai Duong General Hospital and the City Center for Disease Control, set off for Son Hoa commune. Here, although the floodwaters have receded, the government and people are still struggling to overcome the consequences. The appearance of doctors and nurses from Hai Phong city is a great source of encouragement.

As soon as they arrived in Son Hoa commune, despite the limited facilities after the flood, the delegation coordinated with the commune authorities to organize medical examination and treatment areas, triage patients, and arrange specialists. On December 6, the free examination, consultation, and medicine distribution program began. Most of the people who came for examination had skin and respiratory diseases - common diseases after the flood.
More than 300 people received ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, blood sugar measurements, health consultations and medication. Each patient received a family medicine bag and a gift worth 200,000 VND. The delegation also supported 40 households in difficult circumstances and suffered heavy losses with 1 million VND/household. Leaders of the Hai Phong Department of Health directly encouraged grassroots staff in Son Hoa and donated 100 million VND to support the locality in taking care of people's health.

Master, Doctor Nguyen Van Duong, Head of the Nursing Department (Hai Duong Rehabilitation Hospital) said that during the working days at Son Hoa, the doctors and nurses in Hai Phong always maintained a serious and dedicated manner, with the spirit of "doing all the work, not all the hours". According to Doctor Duong, seeing the scene of people who had been immersed in the flood for many hours, now lacking medicine and not having much knowledge of health care, each member of the team made even more efforts to support the people.
The sentiments of the Hai Phong Medical Team touched the hearts of the people of Son Hoa. Mrs. Thai Thi Tu said that the floodwaters once flooded her house more than 4 meters, sweeping away many properties. After being examined, consulted and given medicine by the doctors, she expressed her emotion at being cared for even in the smallest needs. Mr. Chau Van Su (68 years old) was also grateful when the team came to examine the people of Thanh Noi village - where many people have not had time to pay attention to their health because they are busy cleaning up and overcoming the damage after the flood.

Not only providing medical examination and treatment, the City Medical Team also worked with the local Medical Center on the risk of post-flood epidemics, shared experiences in handling urgent issues related to the environment and water resources, contributing to strengthening the capacity of grassroots medical facilities.
At the end of December 7, the Hai Phong Medical Delegation completed its mission in Son Hoa commune, leaving behind beautiful images of affection, responsibility and connection between the health sector of the two localities of Hai Phong - Dak Lak, as well as further affirming the long-lasting friendship between the two provinces of Hai Duong and Phu Yen (old) over the past many years.
