Ea Knuec commune communication poverty reduction information

On the afternoon of December 8, the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune coordinated with VNPT Krong Pac to organize the program "Information poverty reduction" - Implementing Sub-project 1, Project 6, National Target Program on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025.

Attending the program were local leaders, Party cell committees, self-management committees, front work committees, mass organizations and people in the commune.

Leaders of Ea Knuec Commune People's Committee presented public Internet installation packages to villages and hamlets in the area.

At the program, representatives of VNPT Krong Pac communicated on topics about the power of information; skills in using smartphones to access information; experiencing online public services and cashless payments.

Accordingly, people need to proactively access information to serve production, business, family care activities, etc. Local practice shows that when people are equipped with information access skills, production efficiency has increased significantly, income has improved and the poverty rate has decreased sustainably. Reducing information poverty is not only a temporary support but must be a fundamental, long-term solution to promote socio -economic development, contributing to the construction of modern, civilized new rural areas.

However, in the digital space, people need to proactively prevent and protect themselves from fake news, false information, and online scams. Officers from the Department of Culture and Society of Ea Knuec commune and representatives of VNPT Dak Lak provided specific instructions on skills to access official information; how to verify information from reliable and authentic sources; basic security operations on smartphones and be wary of strange calls impersonating authorities, requesting information, borrowing money, etc.

Delegates and people attending the program were also instructed on how to use online public services and make cashless payments; and were consulted, introduced and supported in registering for digital signatures to carry out online transactions.

VNPT Krong Pac guides and supports people of Ea Knuec commune on how to install and use digital signatures.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune presented Internet connection contracts at the halls of 20 villages and hamlets in the area. Each contract package has a validity period of 1 year, worth 2,460,000 VND.

From this activity, each village and hamlet will have a public Internet access point for people to use, easily accessing digital utilities such as online public services, cashless payments, electronic identification, online learning, e-commerce, etc.

At the same time, public Internet points in villages and hamlets will also contribute to improving the quality of propaganda and information dissemination to serve local political, economic and social activities; and improving digital skills for the community.
