Speaking at the advanced training and experience exchange course, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi said: Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Lao Journalists Association for the period 2022 - 2027, the Vietnam Journalists Association organized a special training course for Lao journalists. This is a vivid demonstration of the close and close relationship between the two Journalists Associations, at the same time contributing to consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the Journalists Associations of the two countries.
According to the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the press is always an important bridge to bring information to the public. For that reason, solving environmental challenges or any scientific -social issues requires the companionship and cooperation of journalists and reporters. The Vietnam Journalists Association always knows that training and fostering young writers who love to write about the environment, climate change and sustainable development is still quite difficult. Many reporters and editors consider this a difficult topic, not attractive and requires a lot of effort when implementing the topic. However, the Vietnam Journalists Association always strives to be able to organize training courses on this topic from funding sources, from domestic and international organizations.
Today’s course not only helps Lao journalists improve their in-depth reporting skills but also provides an opportunity to learn, exchange and share experiences with Vietnamese colleagues and experts. Through this, students can learn working methods, writing skills and creative and scientific approaches to environmental issues.
Within the framework of the course, students will participate in theoretical training sessions with a variety of contents, including: analyzing the impact of geography, climate and economic development on the environment; "The perspective of Vietnamese press in reporting on environmental issues" with topics such as Net Zero and green transition; research on current topics such as climate change, extreme climate phenomena in Vietnam and Laos. In parallel with theory, students will also participate in practical sessions at leading press agencies and environmental organizations in Vietnam, including Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Vietnam Television (VTV), VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency), along with organizations, economic units and research labs on environmental protection, microplastic pollution in Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.
Mr. Vu Duc Khuynh, former Director of Vietnam Television, who participated in the training course, said: Advanced training and experience exchange on "Skills in reporting on environmental issues" is important in helping reporters and editors update their professional knowledge, grasp modern environmental journalism trends and improve the scientific and objective nature of their work. The program contributes to training skills in information collection, investigation, data analysis, expert interviews and building attractive and effective media content. At the same time, experience exchange activities create opportunities for connection between journalists, experts and management agencies, thereby promoting cooperation and information sharing. Thanks to that, the quality of environmental communication is improved, supporting public opinion orientation, raising community awareness and actively contributing to sustainable development goals.

For the training course to be most effective, the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association requested that trainees attend all training sessions, proactively discuss unclear issues, limitations and shortcomings in practical activities in order to creatively and effectively apply the knowledge they have learned to their daily work. The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association believes that with the efforts of the experts and the active participation of the trainees, the course will achieve the best results, contributing to improving the quality of press information on the environment and further tightening the Vietnam - Laos cooperation in the fields of press and media...
