Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on December 5, 2025, Phu Bai Ward Police received a report from NTH (born in 2007, residing in Thai Nguyen City). He stated that he was called by subjects impersonating the police and the prosecutor's office, falsely accusing him of participating in a fraud ring to appropriate property in Ho Chi Minh City. The fraudsters also made video calls, staged a scene with someone dressed in a People's Police uniform and threatened him not to reveal the information to anyone.
Following the subject's instructions, H. transferred 500,000 VND, then 5 million VND into the account provided by the subject. At the same time, H. was asked to buy a new phone and SIM card to cut off contact with his family. On December 1, the criminal continued to direct H. to move continuously from Thai Nguyen - Hanoi - Thanh Hoa - Hue City and several other localities.
During this process, the subjects instructed H. to access an application on Zalo called "FE CREDIT Finance Company" to apply for a loan of 18 million VND; then forced H. to transfer the entire loan amount to another person's account. On December 2, they continued to transfer H. 2 million VND via MoMo e-wallet to rent a hotel and spend money to maintain control over the victim. At 11 p.m. the same day, H. went to Phu Bai ward to rent a motel.
Realizing the unusual incident, H. went to Phu Bai Ward Police to report. After verification, the police determined that H. was the victim of an “online kidnapping” scheme. In this case, the criminal forced the victim to transfer money, buy new devices to cut off communication and constantly move to easily control and carry out the act of appropriation.
Phu Bai Ward Police quickly contacted H.'s family in Thai Nguyen City to bring her back safely.
Phu Bai Ward Police advise people to be vigilant and absolutely not follow the requests of calls claiming to be from the authorities; not to transfer money or provide personal information or bank accounts to strangers; and to immediately report to the nearest police station if any unusual signs are detected.
