The Vietnamese women's team is training hard, awaiting the crucial match against the Philippines.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Despite facing numerous difficulties due to traffic congestion in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's national team is still diligently training to prepare for the crucial match against the Philippines taking place at 6:30 PM tonight (December 8th).

"The men's team was stuck in traffic in Bangkok, while the women's team had to spend nearly an hour traveling to Chonburi. This led to disruptions in training sessions and adjustments to the match schedule," Siam Sport commented on the difficulties faced by both Vietnamese football teams at the 33rd SEA Games currently taking place in Thailand.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese women's team was accommodated in a hotel quite far from the match venue, about 25km from Chonbori Stadium. In their opening match against the Malaysian women's team on December 5th, the Vietnamese team proactively left the hotel early at 4 PM, but it still took the entire team nearly an hour to reach the stadium, which meant their preparation for the match was not as ideal as they would have liked.

This situation continued to recur in subsequent training sessions of the Vietnamese women's team ahead of the match against the Philippines, significantly impacting the training sessions of coach Mai Duc Chung's team. Despite this, captain Huynh Nhu and her teammates stated that the entire team will do their best to achieve a good result in this second match.

Last night (December 7th), the Vietnamese women's national team held their final training session at Chonbori Stadium in a serious and focused atmosphere. The coaching staff continued to review tactics, especially focusing on coordination, tackling, and covering between lines to counter the physically demanding playing style of the Philippines.

Speaking ahead of the match against the Philippines, defender Tran Thi Thu shared: “The coaching staff and players have prepared very well, and the whole team is determined to win against the Philippines.”

When asked if she was worried about the superior physique of the Philippine player, Tran Thi Thu said that she had played many matches against strong opponents and had participated in the World Cup, so she was not worried about it.

“The Philippines are physically strong and fit. The coaching staff has prepared the entire team physically. In terms of technique and tactics, the coaching staff has also devised a suitable formation and trained very thoroughly to be ready for the match,” the defender born in 1991 affirmed.
