The agreement opens a new phase for the domestic sports television market, while marking FPT's strategic expansion in the premium content sector.
The copyright term lasts from January 1, 2026 to the end of the 2030 season, including the second half of the 2025/2026 season. FPT Play said it will broadcast fully on all infrastructures: terrestrial, cable, satellite, IPTV, Internet and mobile with the right to public screening and exploitation on social networks. This is considered the widest copyright scope that a unit in Vietnam has ever held for the English Premier League.
The agreement will help domestic fans continue to join the Premier League's 1.87 billion global audience. In the 2026-2031 period alone, there will be about 1,900 matches broadcast; in the 2025/2026 half-season alone, there will be nearly 200 matches. FPT Play affirms that many matches will be produced with 4K image quality, along with a professional commentary system in Vietnamese.
To own this large-scale copyright package, FPT Play has a strategic partnership with Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS) and Monomax - the unit that currently holds the exclusive copyright of Premier League in 4 markets: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. This is the first time JAS and Monomax have directly expanded to Vietnam, marking an important step in the regional strategy of the 2 Thai businesses.
Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Telecom, emphasized the influence of the Premier League in Vietnam and expected FPT Play to bring a more personalized experience to each audience: “With the advantages of infrastructure and technology, FPT Play will open a new chapter in the Premier League viewing experience, more accessible and with a personal touch.”
The announcement comes just months after Chelsea signed a global partnership agreement with FPT Corporation in April 2025. The two milestones, according to Mr. Viet Anh, demonstrate FPT's parallel investment orientation in digital transformation and television content, creating complementary impacts and increasing brand influence.
FPT Play said it will add many new features for the 2026 season, in addition to Live Chat, “dropping” emotions or multi-threaded comments that are familiar to users. The highlight is the team personalization feature: When users choose their favorite club, the name displayed on Live Chat will be accompanied by the team badge. The platform is also testing the Jump Back feature, allowing viewers to “jump” to important moments they missed in the match.
Along with technology, FPT Play plans to expand its companion program system: commentary roundtables, breaking news, in-depth analysis, with the participation of familiar commentators and football experts. The unit said the goal is to increase intimacy and create a wider Premier League following community in Vietnam.
Immediately after announcing the copyright, FPT Play introduced the Premier League service package with a price described as "accessible for every family". The VVIP 1 and VVIP 2 packages have preferential prices from 100,000 VND/month for customers who buy early before January 1, 2026. In addition, customers using the Combo integrating high-speed FPT Internet and the Premier League package will be able to watch the Premier League for only 59,000 VND/month. New subscribers or upgrades in December 2025 will receive an additional month of free viewing from the beginning of 2026. Another highlight is the accompanying promotion: Customers have the chance to win a pair of tickets to travel to the UK to watch a Premier League match live on April 30, 2026.
In recent years, FPT Play has stepped up its investment in sports content, continuously owning major tournaments such as the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, tournaments under UEFA, AFC, NBA, eSports World Cup 2025, PPA Tour Asia or SEA Games 33 in Thailand. Owning the Premier League copyright helps FPT Play consolidate its position in the pay TV market, while expanding its influence to the large football community in Vietnam.
