"This loss is really unfortunate. With the way the match went, a draw would have been more appropriate. I take responsibility for some situations that led to the Vietnamese women's team 's loss. But there were also some situations where the referee handled the ball unfairly. I don't blame, but we need fairness. There was a situation where the ball touched the opponent's hand but they didn't blow, while the Vietnamese women's team blew very hard, while they were more lenient with the Philippines," coach Mai Duc Chung shared after his team's unfortunate loss to the Philippines.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said that the Philippine women's team had nothing good except for high balls. He said: "They didn't have any clear coordination, just taking advantage of high balls and strength. They played simply like that, without any coherent coordination. Losing in the last minute was really a pity."

Regarding the playing style of the Vietnamese women's team, coach Mai Duc Chung admitted that there were some problems: "In the tactical meeting, we decided not to play high balls, but many times the players played spontaneously. Our mistake was to continuously cross the ball. I reminded many times that we had to play low balls, coordinate small triangles, but because the team's distance was not good, the players were forced to play long balls."
Regarding the arrangement of the three new central defenders, coach Mai Duc Chung explained: "Diem My has experience in playing the ball, and the other two are tall and big. They were arranged like that to counter the high ball and they performed well. However, there were some ineffective substitutions, they were a bit passive, and they did not exploit the opponent's weaknesses."

“The reason for replacing Truc Huong in the 31st minute was because this player did not play well, lost her temper, lost the ball a lot and was not effective in competing. In that position, I should have replaced her with a younger and stronger player, but at that time I was a bit passive. For this loss, I take full responsibility,” coach Mai Duc Chung added.
Assessing the chances of reaching the semi-finals, coach Mai Duc Chung believes that the Vietnamese women's team will decide their own fate: "The chance to continue is still there. We only need to beat Myanmar to pass the group stage. Then there is a possibility that all three teams will have 6 points and when comparing the goal difference, we will still have an advantage over Myanmar and the Philippines if this scenario happens."
