The event was held to introduce in depth the tourism potential of Jeonbuk, thereby promoting opportunities to expand cooperation with Vietnamese tourism businesses, moving towards building joint programs, two-way exchange of visitors and developing more tourism products suitable to the needs of Vietnamese tourists.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Lee Yong Woo, representative of Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation, said: Jeonbuk Province is the cradle of traditional Korean culture, a place where unique heritage values, beautiful nature and rich tourism resources converge.

Over the years, Jeonbuk has continuously developed new tourism products in various forms: experiential tourism, healing tourism, cultural- culinary tourism and community tourism, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of international tourists.

“Vietnam is one of the most important markets for us. The number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea has grown strongly, and we believe that Jeonbuk - with its advantages in nature, culture and unique tourism products, will also become an attractive, safe and friendly destination for Vietnamese tourists,” Mr. Lee Yong Woo emphasized.

In the coming time, Jeonbuk plans to launch a number of strong promotion and advertising programs, aiming to expand its presence in the Vietnamese market through strategic partners such as the STP Institute and leading tourism businesses. According to the representative of the Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation, this cooperation not only promotes tourism development between the two countries, but also contributes to enhancing cultural exchange and friendship between the Vietnamese and Korean people.

Assessing the significance of the workshop, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thanh, Director of the Institute for Research and Development of Education and Vocational Training of STP, said that the workshop is an opportunity for management agencies, tourism businesses and related organizations to exchange and share information about tourism in Jeonbuk province, thereby building an effective and sustainable cooperation program.

Ms. Thanh also affirmed that with the cultural closeness between the two countries and the strong growth in two-way tourist exchange between Vietnam and Korea in recent years, strengthening cooperation to develop new tourism products and connecting routes is extremely necessary.

At the workshop, the Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation provided a comprehensive view of the resources and tourism development orientation of Jeonbuk - an autonomous province located in the Southwest region of Korea, a relatively new destination for Vietnamese tourists.

Converging sea, mountains and plains, Jeonbuk is a place that fully preserves the traditional cultural features of the kimchi land, from traditional costumes (Hanbok), traditional ancient houses (Hanok), traditional music (Gugak) to traditional paper (Hanji) and traditional cuisine (Hansik).

With rich natural and human resources, Jeonbuk focuses on developing historical tourism, culinary tourism and health tourism. In particular, health tourism is currently oriented to become the pillar of Jeonbuk tourism, helping tourists improve their physical and mental health through experiences during their travel journey.

In particular, the distinctive themes of Jeonbuk health tourism are gastronomy and traditional culture. While gastronomy focuses on healing cuisine, using natural ingredients and local specialties to boost immunity, detoxify, and improve overall health; the traditional culture theme exploits experiences such as hanji, taekwondo, fermented foods, tea ceremony, and hanok accommodation - unique cultural resources to form health care treatment programs.

Currently, Jeonbuk is developing outstanding health care tourism products such as: Jeonju-Muju 2-day 1-night itinerary connecting Jeonju Gyeonggijeon Hanok Village-Meoru Wine Cave-Taekwondo experience and meditation at Taekwondo-won and enjoy healthy pizza at Muju Nunkkot; Buan-Sunchang-Jinan 2-day 1-night itinerary connecting Byeonsan Peninsula Eco-Sightseeing Center-Gyeokpo Wido-Naesosa Temple-Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park-Red Ginseng Spa...

A representative of the Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation informed that next year, Jeonbuk's promotional strategy towards the Vietnamese market will be implemented according to an integrated online-offline marketing model. Specifically, the Foundation will organize roadshows and B2B seminars in major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to introduce Jeonbuk's health care and cultural tourism products, while strengthening connections with units in the Vietnamese tourism industry. In addition, digital marketing activities suitable for Vietnamese consumers' tastes will also be promoted, including: cooperation with local KOLs, production of media content in Vietnamese, and joint promotion programs with online tourism platforms.

In addition, the Fund plans to periodically organize fam tours for travel agencies, media agencies and KOLs to create conditions for direct experience of Jeonbuk's unique tourism products.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat, Vice President of Hanoi Tourism Association shared his opinion.

Jeonbuk also plans to expand cooperation with Vietnam on a long-term roadmap, aiming at sustainable tourism development in the fields of training, research and tourism product development. Key contents include: organizing training programs, joint workshops on product design; expanding the signing between educational institutions, research institutes and tourism organizations on both sides; conducting joint market research and surveying trends and needs of tourists; developing thematic tourism products and piloting them; building a system to improve service quality based on customer feedback.

Attending the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat, Vice President of Hanoi Tourism Association, said: In today's fast-paced and stressful life, tourists increasingly tend to seek destinations that have the ability to "heal". If in the past, Vietnamese tourists to Korea mainly chose traditional tours such as Seoul, Nami, Busan or Jeju, Jeonbuk is opening up new options, especially when this locality is quite close to Incheon and Seoul. Mr. Dat expressed his hope that many Vietnamese businesses will soon access this new product to promote connections, bringing tourists to Jeonbuk in the near future, contributing to promoting two-way tourist exchange between Vietnam and Korea.
