Reporting on some major contents in the revision process, Chairman of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh said that, taking into account the opinions of delegates, the drafting agency agreed to adjust the term "main multimedia media agency" to "main multimedia press agency" to ensure accuracy and consistency with the scope of the draft law.

Regarding the proposal to pilot the model of a multi-media press group or consortium in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Standing Committee of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee said that it has received, researched and will have a supplementary report. Currently, the Government is directing the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to summarize the Press Development and Management Plan, in which it plans to propose to competent authorities to allow Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to establish a multi-media press agency. This content will be specified in the national press development strategy, ensuring consistency and feasibility.
Regarding press activities in cyberspace, absorbing the opinions of delegates, the Standing Committee of the Committee and the drafting agency reviewed and revised the provisions of the draft law in the direction of prescribing state management measures for press activities in cyberspace similar to those for the four types of traditional press.
Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Society Nguyen Dac Vinh also said that some opinions suggested the need for more specific regulations on protecting press copyright in cyberspace, avoiding illegal copying, which affects copyright and information transparency.

Concluding the discussion, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong highly appreciated the preparation work of the drafting agency and suggested continuing to carefully review the contents to ensure consistency with the legal system, especially the laws being considered by the National Assembly such as the Law on Artificial Intelligence - which only stipulates the framework, while the content will be specifically regulated by specialized laws such as the Press Law.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong also noted that it is necessary to continue to supplement and review press development policies, especially financial mechanisms to ensure resources for performing public service tasks and assigned tasks. At the same time, it is necessary to clarify the conditions for press activities, licensing mechanisms, organizational structure, criteria for determining "key multimedia press agencies"; perfect regulations on press cards, legal responsibility for information content, as well as the right to request correction and removal of violating information.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly assigned the Standing Committee of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee to continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to thoroughly review the draft law, fully absorbing the opinions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on both content and technical aspects of the document. In particular, it is necessary to clarify the concepts of national digital press platform and press products; rearrange the layout and concepts according to similar groups of issues, ensuring the progress and process of submitting to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
