Donated more than 383,000 textbooks and English books to support students in flood-affected areas

On the morning of December 4, in Tuy Hoa ward, a program to support students affected by storms and floods in Dak Lak province took place.

At the program, Vietnam Education Publishing House donated 366,225 textbooks, worth more than 5.3 billion VND; Da Nang Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company and Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company donated 17,093 English books, worth more than 770 million VND to support students in the province whose books were damaged by floods.

All of these books will be directly delivered by sponsoring units to schools according to the list provided by the Department of Education and Training, ensuring timely delivery for teaching and learning.

Speaking at the program, the representative of the sponsoring units, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House, said that in the recent historic flood, thousands of students in Dak Lak province lost or damaged all their school books. In this situation, Vietnam Education Publishing House has implemented a plan to donate books to join hands to support and share with the students and teachers here.

"We understand that overcoming the damage caused by natural disasters requires not only the efforts of teachers and students, but also the cooperation of the whole community. Therefore, this book donation program is not only a material support, but also demonstrates the spirit of "mutual love", the responsibility of businesses towards the education sector and towards students. We hope that the students will soon stabilize their spirits and continue to study better," said Mr. Hai.

At the same time, she affirmed that this is a very meaningful and timely source of support to help students quickly stabilize their studies after the recent natural disaster.

"The Department of Education and Training hopes to continue to receive support from units in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and restoring teaching equipment at schools to ensure the best quality of teaching and learning," said Ms. Vo Thi Minh Duyen.
