Vietnamese female artist attracts special attention by bringing folk music to the Lao National Day celebration.

Over the past few days, singer An Thu An, a member of the Military Arts Troupe of Military Region 1, has been attracting significant attention on social media in both Laos and Vietnam for her appearances in exchange activities between the Vietnam People's Army and the Lao armed forces on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025).

During her trip, An Thu An had the opportunity to perform many pieces showcasing the rich colors of Vietnamese music , contributing to boosting the morale of the Lao soldiers participating in the parade. In particular, her performance of "Cô Đôi Thượng Ngàn" made a strong impression on the Lao audience thanks to its distinctive folk melody and confident, expressive performance style.

Sharing her special experience, An Thu An said: “I was deeply moved to be able to bring Vietnamese music to the soldiers and people of Laos. The warm, sincere atmosphere and the warm reception made me clearly feel the connection between the two nations.” She also happily added: “The lovely comments from the Laotian people, including questions like… 'would you marry a Laotian man?', made me laugh and feel incredibly fond of them.”

An Thu An's prominent appearance is considered a highlight in the series of important commemorative activities, contributing to spreading the spirit of Vietnam-Laos friendship.

Born in 2000 in Ninh Binh , An Thu An (real name Nguyen Thi Thu An) showed musical talent from a young age and won many awards in school art competitions. At 18, she won the Talent Award and made it to the top 10 of the Hoa Lu Beauty Contest – Miss Ninh Binh Province. Afterward, she studied Vocal Music at the Military University of Culture and Arts and officially embarked on a professional artistic career.

In 2022, An Thu An was the runner-up in the Sao Mai singing competition. In 2024, she officially released the music video "Tu Than," a folk-inspired song composed by musician Pham Viet Tuan and directed and produced by Vu Hong Thang. The product garnered attention thanks to its polished visuals, clear script, and reached number 4 on the iTunes Vietnam chart, marking a significant start in the singer's career.
