On the morning of December 4, the Steering Committee for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of People's Council deputies at all levels in the province for the 2026-2031 term held a meeting to deploy all aspects of election service work in the province. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee Nguyen Van Phuong chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the Provincial Election Committee reported on the implementation of the election work. At the same time, the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee assigned tasks to members of the Steering Committee for the Election of Deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of People's Council deputies at all levels of the province for the 2026-2031 term.
Accordingly, the Election Committee has developed and issued a number of documents, instructions on elections, and issued plans for implementing election work. The province has also coordinated with the National Election Council to organize conferences to deploy election work online to communes, wards, and special zones. The Department of Home Affairs has established an information mechanism between the unit and leaders and civil servants in charge of election work in communes, wards, and special zones to proactively and promptly deploy, guide, handle, and resolve issues arising during the implementation process. Communes and wards have issued decisions to establish commune-level Election Committees to ensure compliance with regulations; at the same time, completing the expected structure, composition, and allocation of the number of people nominated to run for People's Council deputies at the commune level.


At the meeting, members of the Steering Committee discussed the division of polling stations, the task of ensuring security and order, personnel work, propaganda, handling of complaints and denunciations, etc. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang informed about the proposed plan for the election units of the 16th National Assembly and Provincial People's Council. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Chien Thang also requested that the election service work should be focused, paying attention to propaganda work to facilitate the people in the election, given that this is the first election after the merger of localities and the operation of two-level local government. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Vu Khiem said that the election service work needs to be actively and closely implemented, closely following the locality; representatives of the Provincial Police leadership also exchanged and informed about the handling process when the seal is lost or missing, etc.


Concluding the meeting, Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Phuong requested the Standing Office of the Election Committee to carry out procedures according to regulations so that competent agencies can issue seals, in order to promptly deploy work according to plan. In addition, the collection of seals is also carried out in parallel. In particular, the Election Committee must ensure the procedures are in accordance with regulations; maintain close contact, closely follow and continuously update the instructions and guidance of the Central agency.

In addition, promptly resolve issues arising during the preparation and organization process; lead and direct the implementation of personnel work for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels; train and update information fully for commune-level officials.
Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Phuong also emphasized that due to the specific time, the upcoming election, especially in the context of the operation of two-level local government posing new tasks, it is necessary to closely support localities and election units in accordance with regulations, ensuring means, equipment and facilities.
