After much effort, authorities have cleared many landslides on Gia Bac Pass, Lam Dong Province. Vehicles stuck for hours here have been rescued.

On the evening of December 4, Ham Thuan Bac Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police informed that all more than 20 cars of various types stuck at Km 41 on Gia Bac Pass, National Highway 28, were safely rescued.

According to information, at about 4:00 p.m. the same day, after many hours of efforts to handle the scene of landslides and fallen trees in the direction from Ham Thuan Bac commune to Son Dien commune, the authorities cleared the road.

All vehicles stuck at Km41 on Gia Bac Pass due to landslides since the afternoon of December 3rd, were traveling along National Highway 28 towards Phan Thiet.

According to information from the Son Dien commune government, heavy rain lasted from the afternoon of December 3 to noon of December 4, causing landslides at more than 10 points on Gia Bac pass, many forest trees fell, paralyzing traffic on National Highway 28 through the pass. Most of the landslides on Gia Bac pass are located in Son Dien commune.

After the landslide occurred, Son Dien commune mobilized hundreds of people from many forces to coordinate with the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, the Department of Construction and the road management unit to focus on clearing the landslide scene.

After many efforts, there are still many landslides with large volumes of earth and rock that have not been cleared.

Currently, authorities are organizing traffic flow and guiding people and air traffic through Gia Bac pass to ensure safety.

As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, prolonged heavy rain caused landslides on Gia Bac Pass (Km38-Km51), a large amount of soil, rocks and many forest trees fell onto the road, paralyzing traffic on National Highway 28 in both directions.

At Km 41 on Gia Bac Pass, more than 20 cars were stuck. At noon on December 4, after many efforts to walk through the landslides, the police and militia approached and provided food and drinks to all those stuck.
