
Accordingly, many new flooded areas continuously appeared, the water showed no signs of receding, leaving people unable to react in time. Throughout the night, the authorities were still on duty, assisting people in evacuating their belongings and moving to a safe place.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Thanh Hai A neighborhood (Phu Thuy ward), waded out onto the street carrying a bag of things and shared: "It's been nearly 70 years since I've seen the water rise so high. I'm afraid it will rise again, so I'll just endure it and go home when it recedes."
At the new flooded areas, local forces quickly mobilized and guided people to evacuate. Thanks to experience from the previous floods, most people were proactive, coordinated and left calmly.
Up to now, local forces in Ung Chiem neighborhood are still trying to get people out of their homes to avoid the risk of flooding at night.
According to the reporter, at nearly 1am on December 5, at the new flooded areas, police, military and security forces were still on duty, keeping watch over the flood throughout the night. The water level has shown no signs of stopping at this point.
