Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Committees of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Pham Tat Thang, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion; and representatives from various departments and agencies of Hanoi City.

Representing the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha were Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Member of the Council of Elders, Standing Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, along with other venerable members of the Standing Committee of the Executive Council.
At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu read the message from the Great Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, addressed to monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Vietnam and abroad.
In particular, it was emphasized that in 2026, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will celebrate its 45th anniversary (November 7, 1981 - November 7, 2026). Each venerable monk, nun, and lay Buddhist member of the Sangha should continue to dedicate themselves to service with mindfulness and peace, contributing to the solemnity of the Sangha and promoting the fine national traditions of Vietnamese Buddhism.
Furthermore, let us be even more enthusiastic in applying the Buddha's teachings, together lighting the lamp of compassion, so that this light may spread, warm everyone, and make life better.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Committees of mass organizations, respectfully extended his best wishes to the Venerable Buddhist dignitaries, all monks, nuns, lay people, and Buddhist followers, wishing them a peaceful, united, and fraternal Vesak season.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, under the wise leadership of the Party, the decisive management of the Government, the support of the National Assembly, and the active participation of all sectors of the population, including the active contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at all levels and Vietnamese monks, nuns, and Buddhists at home and abroad, the country has achieved many great accomplishments in various fields: socio -economic development, national defense and security are maintained, social welfare is ensured, people's lives are improved, and the nation's position and prestige in the international arena are enhanced.

Vietnamese Buddhism has always upheld the spirit of "protecting the nation and ensuring the well-being of the people," with the Dharma accompanying the nation, actively contributing to the building and development of the country, and strengthening national unity.
Mr. Long emphasized that the Vietnam Fatherland Front hopes and believes that the Venerable members of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Association will continue to uphold the patriotic tradition and the spirit of active engagement with the motto "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism," continue to encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhists to live "a good life and a beautiful faith," walk alongside the nation, and contribute even more to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new era.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Long also expressed his hope that the Buddhist Church would continue to play a role in people-to-people diplomacy and international Buddhist exchanges, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people as peace-loving, compassionate, and rich in cultural traditions to Buddhist communities in other countries and international friends.
