Having been sidelined for 10 months due to a broken leg, Nguyen Xuan Son showed that his goal-scoring instincts were undiminished. The striker, born in 1997, scored in his first two matches back on the pitch. After scoring to help the Vietnamese national team win against Laos, Nguyen Xuan Son's return to Nam Dinh club was even more impressive.

This player scored a hat-trick in the match between Nam Dinh FC and Shan United (Myanmar) in the ASEAN Club Championship. The 3-0 victory helped the Vietnamese football representative continue to compete for a place in the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian Championship.

Xuan Son's first goal against Shan United was a successful penalty kick in the final minute of the first half. The Vietnamese player deceived the opposing goalkeeper.

At the start of the second half, Xuan Son demonstrated his effectiveness in positioning and seizing opportunities. He received a pass from Brenner heading towards the far post and simply touched the ball with both the opposing defender and goalkeeper unmarked.

Xuan Son completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute. From Walber Mota's throw-in, the Nam Dinh players had the advantage in the aerial duel. The ball bounced to Xuan Son's position, and he immediately launched himself into the net, scoring against Shan United.

Thus, in the two matches he played after recovering from injury, Nguyen Xuan Son scored 4 goals for both his club and the Vietnamese national team. Although he hasn't regained his best physical condition to perform sprints and hold off defenders, the striker born in 1997 still possesses excellent finishing skills.

Nam Dinh FC has temporarily moved up to second place in the standings, behind Johor Darul Tazim (Malaysia). However, compared to their rivals above and below them, the Vietnamese team has played one less match.
