Song Luy Commune rewards two citizens for helping people safely overcome floods

On the afternoon of December 4, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Song Luy commune (Lam Dong) awarded Certificates of Merit in recognition of the bravery and responsibility for the community to two citizens residing in village 1, Song Luy commune, Tran Minh Vu and Van Thanh Tien.

On December 4, prolonged heavy rains caused some roads in the commune to be flooded, making it difficult and potentially dangerous for people to travel. In that situation, Mr. Vu and Mr. Tien used their trucks to help transport people through the deeply flooded areas, ensuring their safety.

According to the People's Committee of Song Luy commune, the timely actions of the two men have contributed to helping people stabilize their lives, limit risks in floods, and at the same time create a beautiful image, spreading the spirit of mutual love in the community.

It is known that due to the impact of floods, since December 3, water from the Phan Tien upstream area and Tu Son dam has poured in, causing many locations along the Luy River to be flooded, overflowing National Highway 1A and the Suoi Nhuom area. The entire commune has 200 houses flooded, 15 households had to be urgently evacuated; about 300 hectares of crops, 9 livestock, 100 poultry were damaged, and fish in 300 m² of ponds were swept away.

The Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have directed functional forces to block off deeply flooded areas and organize support to evacuate people and property to safety.

On the same day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Song Luy commune visited and presented necessities to support households in difficulty, helping people to soon stabilize their lives after the flood.
