According to Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan, the landslides on Gia Bac Pass on Highway 28 are still in disarray, so vehicles cannot pass through. The landslide area and the risk of further landslides stretch from Km 43 to Km 51, passing through Son Dien commune.

Mr. Nhuan added that because the landslide area is the border between the two old provinces of Binh Thuan and Lam Dong, the locality has contacted functional units from Phan Thiet up the pass to approach the trapped people.

Meanwhile, the forces of Son Dien commune heading down from the pass could not approach due to landslides causing separation.

"The forces heading from Phan Thiet up the pass have already dealt with several landslides, reached the trapped people and brought them back in that direction. The people driving cars that were stuck since yesterday were also able to return to Phan Thiet," Mr. Nhuan informed.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , prolonged heavy rain caused many landslides on Gia Bac Pass on Highway 28, through Son Dien commune.

When the landslide occurred, Son Dien commune sent a group of functional officers to approach and grasp the situation. However, when approaching, the working group of Son Dien commune was also stuck between landslide points on Gia Bac pass for more than a night.

The landslide site had no phone signal and the residential area was deserted, so the local authorities could not contact the trapped residents and working group.
