At the meeting with Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - on the morning of December 5, a representative of Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited said that the water flow regulated through the spillway at Song Quao irrigation reservoir has decreased to about 50m3 /s.
Mr. Nguyen Minh requested that the most urgent thing now is to not let people be isolated, and to provide adequate support. At the same time, he requested that localities not let people subjectively go through flooded areas, harvest dragon fruit underwater...
Mr. Minh praised the volunteer rescue forces who coordinated with the functional forces of Ham Thang ward throughout the night to help evacuate people in flooded areas to safety.
According to Tuoi Tre Online at noon the same day, the water level of Cai River passing through Ham Thang ward decreased by about 1 meter. However, many residential areas were still deeply flooded, especially the areas on both sides of Cai River.
Rescue forces of Lam Dong province are still using canoes to deliver food and drinks to people severely flooded in Ham Thang ward.
Households on both sides of Highway 1, Ham Thang ward, have begun cleaning up the mess left behind by floodwaters in their homes.
