On December 6, sources said that Director of Lam Dong Department of Construction Le Ngoc Tien signed a document to send to the Provincial People's Committee to report progress and request an extension of the time to consult and propose planning for the province's new administrative - political center.
According to the document of Lam Dong Province Department of Construction, to come up with the optimal solution, it is necessary to conduct a review, field survey, synthesize research, analyze and evaluate existing plans, as well as carefully consider the investment and development potential in each selected area.
Lam Dong Province Department of Construction believes that this process must be carried out objectively and scientifically, avoiding haste, because the new administrative-political center will be the "heart" of Lam Dong province for many decades to come, and at the same time be the nucleus forming new growth poles in urban areas, services, and high technology.
Therefore, the Department proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allow an extension of the consultation period for content related to the new Administrative - Political Center to December 2025.
At the same time, the Department proposed to select a capable consulting unit to participate in research and develop planning options, ensuring a more independent and effective perspective.
Previously, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and localities to urgently research and propose a plan for the province's new administrative-political center. This is one of the specific tasks to implement the resolution of the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to advise and propose a plan to submit to the Provincial People's Committee in November 2025. However, the implementation reality shows that this is a content with long-term impacts, associated with the arrangement of administrative units from at least 3 old provinces: Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, so more time is needed for comprehensive research.

Administrative center is the driving force of urban development.
According to the direction of the Provincial Party Congress resolution, the new Lam Dong Administrative - Political Center project will be invested by state budget capital combined with public-private partnership (PPP).
The appraisal, selection of location, scale and investment plan are considered key steps, paving the way for the formation of a modern and synchronous administrative institution, creating new development space for the province in the post-merger period.
The resolution requires that the selection of a new administrative-political center location must ensure many criteria: having potential and room for land fund development, creating momentum for trade, services, tourism, high-tech zones, and at the same time expanding urban space.
This location must also have a convenient transportation system, connecting with economic - financial, industrial, scientific - technological centers and key traffic routes of the country.
