Opening of the 2025 International Tea Festival in Da Lat, bringing Vietnamese tea to the world

The World Tea Fest 2025 opened on the evening of December 5 at Lam Vien Square (Da Lat), opening a series of major activities for the Vietnamese tea industry.

With an international scale, the festival aims to bring Vietnamese tea to the world map, while affirming the role of Da Lat - Lam Dong as a center of tea culture and economy .

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said that in recent times, the Government has given strong direction and issued many policies to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating conditions for people and businesses to produce and trade tea trees to develop strongly, improve their position in the world market, and achieve many positive results.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized: "In order for the Vietnamese tea industry to develop more and more sustainably in a green, clean, high-quality and high-value direction, ministries, branches and localities, including Lam Dong province, must continue to promote industry restructuring; effectively implement the Project on developing key industrial crops by 2030, including tea, towards large-scale production, value chain linkage, application of high technology, deep processing, product diversification, meeting international standards...".

The highlight of the opening night was an art program recreating the journey of the tea tree - a plant that has been closely associated with Vietnamese life for many generations, from vast tea hills to the sophisticated tea-drinking ritual.

Vietnamese tea is honored as a cultural symbol, connecting people with nature and connecting Vietnam with international friends.

Music, fashion, and carnival performances with the participation of guest artists and nearly 80 international Miss Cosmo contestants created a brilliant street festival atmosphere for the city of thousands of flowers.

World TEA Fest 2025 also emphasized the message of sustainable development. Right at the opening ceremony, the organizing committee donated 3 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province to support social security.

Many activities spread from Da Lat to Bao Loc

From now until December 7, people and tourists in Da Lat and Bao Loc will experience the Tea Culture space - Tea Gallery with 1,000 ancient tea trees, the exhibition area - Tea Expo and discussion sessions - Tea Summit on market trends and Vietnamese tea cultural diplomacy.

The Tea Festival program - Tea Fest at the 1927 ancient tea factory in Bao Loc and the parade honoring the image of tea trees - Tea Carnival on the central streets of Da Lat are expected to become the highlight of the year-end festival, spreading the Vietnamese tea heritage and creating more motivation to develop tourism and a sustainable tea economy for Lam Dong.
