On the evening of December 5, the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2025 with the theme "Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City Fest" officially opened with the launching ceremony taking place on the small island in front of Ben Thanh Market.
The event took place from December 5 to 12, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in coordination with departments, branches, partners and 168 wards, communes and special zones across the city.
This year, the program has a special meaning, marking the first time the Tourism Week is organized within the new megacity after the administrative arrangement, expanding to the merged areas of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old). This is a golden opportunity to promote the image of the new city, a multi-colored megacity, increase connectivity and develop sustainable tourism.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that the Tourism Week is not only a series of events to open the festival season, but also a message affirming the city's determination to strongly restore the tourism industry, promote socio-economic growth; and at the same time introduce a new Ho Chi Minh City - more open, younger, and more connected.

One of the outstanding activities at the event was the media cooperation program, promoting the image of 168 wards, communes, and special zones on digital platforms.
Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center coordinated with the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund and TikTok to implement a program to build a network of channels to promote culture and tourism and a channel for government-people interaction on digital platforms.

"The program aims to select 168 local representatives to become cultural and tourism content creators, to introduce cultural values, destinations, typical products and identities of each region, contributing to spreading the image of Ho Chi Minh City authentically from the community" - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung emphasized.
Accordingly, each TikTok channel will be a locality - a story - a unique beauty. 168 accounts, 168 perspectives, together create a rich content picture, helping people and tourists explore urban life, community culture, cuisine and interesting things. This is also an important step in digitizing information and enhancing online interaction between the government and people in a friendly, transparent and timely manner.

Series of events in response to Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2025
- The 3rd Cho Lon Food Story Food Festival in 2025 with the theme "Fragrance and Colors of Five Flavors" was held from December 5 to 7 at the An Dong Ward Cultural - Sports Service Center with 60 Vietnamese - Chinese culinary booths and many attractive activities such as cooking experiences, talk shows, bicycle parades, and art performances.
- The first "Southern Cuisine and Traditional Cakes Week 2025" was held from December 4 to 10 at Binh Tay market area, with 40 culinary stalls and traditional cake stalls.
- The festival "Recycled Costume - Dinh River in Me" was held on December 12 at the West Bank Park of Dinh River, Huong Giang quarter, Long Huong ward.
- The beautiful photo contest "Check-in - Phu Nhuan is changing every day" was held from December 5 to 25 and Phu Nhuan Information and Cultural Exchange Space introduced tourist - cultural - artistic relics in the area from December 5 to 12.
- Binh Thanh Ward Tourism Promotion Space and Amateur Music Exchange Program are held from December 5 to December 25 at Binh Thanh Ward Traditional House.
