Tran Quyet Chien crowned 3-cushion champion of HBSF MIN Table 2025

(NLDO) - The super players Tran Quyet Chien and Duong Quoc Hoang convincingly won the championship at the HBSF MIN Table Billiards Tournament 2025.

After 5 days of exciting and fierce competition with many surprising results, the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation Cup Billiards Championship - HBSF MIN Table ended on the evening of December 5 with a series of fiery final matches. On the final day of competition, the audience watching live at Rach Mieu Stadium was truly satisfied with the top competition in four categories: men's 3-cushion carom, women's 3-cushion carom, men's 9-cushion pool and women's 9-cushion pool.

The final match of the men's 3-cushion carom billiards was a fierce battle between Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Nhat Hoa, with the final victory belonging to the experienced player who had won the World Cup. Tran Quyet Chien defeated his opponent with a score of 50-33 after 15 rounds, winning the championship cup and the prize money of 100 million VND.

At this tournament, Tran Quyet Chien showed an extremely impressive performance, defeating Nguyen Nhu Le in the quarterfinals with a score of 40-9 after only 9 rounds; surpassing World Cup champion Tran Thanh Luc with a score of 50-34 after 21 rounds in the semi-finals and then defeating Nguyen Nhat Hoa 50-33 in the final match.

Runner-up Nguyen Nhat Hoa received a prize of 40 million VND while the two third-place players, Vo Quoc Thang and Tran Thanh Luc, received 15 million VND. Player Nguyen Trung Khien won the "Excellent Series" prize worth 5 million VND with a series of 15 points while Tran Quyet Chien was the owner of the "Best Game" prize worth 5 million VND with an efficiency of 4,444 points/shot scored in the quarter-final match.

Duong Quoc Hoang won the men's 9-ball pool championship

In the men's 9-ball pool final, Duong Quoc Hoang and Pham Phuong Nam created an exciting tug-of-war. When the score was 8-8, Quoc Hoang took advantage of his opponent's mistakes to win three consecutive games, thereby winning 11-8 overall.

The championship brought Duong Quoc Hoang a prize of 70 million VND. Runner-up Pham Phuong Nam received 30 million VND. The two third-place players, Nguyen Van Hung Phu and Ho Minh Hanh, received 10 million VND.

Bui Xuan Vang won the women's 9-ball pool event

Female player Bui Xuan Vang continued to prove her absolute strength in the women's 9-ball pool event when she defeated Le Hong Nhung with a score of 8-4 in the final match, receiving the championship cup, 20 million VND and a J-Flowers competition cue. Runner-up Le Hong Nhung received 10 million VND. The two third-place players, Tran Thi Kim Quyen and Phung Hoang Phuong Uyen, received 4 million VND. From 5th to 8th place, they received 2 million VND.

Notably, in the women's 3-cushion carom event, the HBSF Tour system had the first championship belonging to a foreign player.

South Korean female billiard player Choi Bo-me defeated her compatriot Park Ji-hyun 30-19 after 26 rounds to win the championship. She received the championship trophy, 20 million VND and a J-Flowers competition cue.

Korean player Choi Bo-me won the women's 3-cushion carom championship.

Runner-up Park Ji-hyun received 10 million VND while the two third-place players, Nguyen Thi Bich Tram and Ayaka Miyashita, received 4 million VND. Player Do Thi Ngoc Hang won the "Best Series" award while Choi Bo-me received the "Best Game" award, each worth 2 million VND.

At the closing ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF) awarded Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu with the No. 1 position on the HBSF Carom Ranking in 2025 with a cue stick from the Million brand. Player Ngo Hong Thang, the best player on the HBSF Pool Ranking in 2025, received a cue stick from the J-Flowers brand.
