On the evening of December 5, at Lam Vien Square (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Province), the opening ceremony of the International Tea Festival - World Tea Fest 2025 took place. This is the largest-scale program ever, taking place for the first time in Da Lat from November 11 to December 7.

Attending the event were Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, 40 ambassadors from various countries, representatives of UNESCO, international organizations, businesses, experts and many domestic and foreign tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said that recently the Government has given strong direction and issued many policies to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating conditions for people and businesses producing and trading tea to develop strongly, improve their position in the world market, and achieve many positive results.

The opening ceremony vividly recreated the journey of the tea tree, which has been associated with the lives of Vietnamese people for thousands of years. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, for the Vietnamese tea industry to develop sustainably, ministries, branches and localities, including Lam Dong province, need to effectively implement the Project on developing key industrial crops by 2030, including tea, towards large-scale production, value chain linkage, high-tech application, deep processing, product diversification, and meeting international standards.

The 2025 International Tea Festival will have many special activities such as performances by 1,111 tea farmers; Display of 1,000 tea trees over 100 years old from many countries famous for tea; 80 beauties from many countries performing at the Tea Festival.

At the opening ceremony, the audience enjoyed exciting performances by Noo Phuoc Thinh, Duong Hoang Yen, Trang Phap, Dong Hung, Duy Linh, Meritorious Artist Quynh Huong... along with an impressive carnival performance by nearly 80 Miss Cosmo international contestants.

At the Opening Ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the 2025 International Tea Festival donated 3 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province. At the opening ceremony of World Tea Fest 2025, VietKings Organization announced four new Vietnamese records, including: 1927 Ancient Tea Factory in Bao Loc - one of the oldest tea processing facilities still existing in Vietnam; Organizer of the International Tea Festival with the largest chain of cultural, economic and diplomatic activities; "Thanh Tam Tra Dance" performance with 1,111 Tea ladies making and offering tea in the "Vietnamese Tea Ceremony" style with the most participants at one location; and the festival with the most beauty queens and beauty representatives of Miss Cosmo from participating countries.

Also at the event, the Vietnam UNESCO Association and the Japan UNESCO Association awarded the certificate of Intangible Cultural Heritage Practice to Lam Dong Tea Joint Stock Company (Ladotea) for its efforts in gathering the practice community and spreading tea knowledge on an unprecedented scale. At the same time, the UNESCO Cultural Brand Doi Dep was awarded to recognize its contribution to preserving and promoting Vietnamese tea culture and connecting the international community towards peace and sustainable development.
