This is a big loss for the Vietnamese team, after opposite number Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen did not participate in this tournament due to health reasons.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team had to change personnel at the last minute, while the Philippines used its strongest domestic force with the determination to overthrow the reigning champion of host Thailand.

Having just welcomed back two key players Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Tran Thi Bich Thuy from Japan in time for the team meeting, the Vietnamese team suddenly had to say goodbye to middle blocker Nguyen Thi Trinh. The 29-year-old player from Dak Lak wrote a letter of withdrawal from the team just a few days before leaving for the 2025 SEA Games due to an injury that had not yet recovered.

This is a big loss for the Vietnamese team, after opposite number Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen did not participate in this congress due to health reasons. The team had to urgently call up young middle blocker Le Nhu Anh from VTV Binh Dien Long An to replace her.

Over the past few years, Nguyen Thi Trinh has been one of the veteran strikers of the Vietnam national team, regularly participating in major tournaments and winning many titles. Recently, she has faced many physical difficulties due to age and injury.

"The replacement" Le Nhu Anh is a pillar with important contributions to help the U20 Vietnam team win tickets to the final round of the 2025 U21 Volleyball World Cup. Although only 20 years old, Nhu Anh is expected to become one of the leading pillars of Vietnamese women's volleyball. In the near future, Nhu Anh will have many opportunities to compete at the SEA Games for the first time alongside her U20 teammate Bui Thi Anh Thao.

The Vietnamese team aims to dethrone the Thai team. The Philippines also does not hide its ambition to win the gold medal in women's volleyball at the 33rd SEA Games. In 2025, the Philippine women's team will compete very successfully and reach many important international milestones, such as runner-up in the AVC Nations Cup and 2 bronze medals in the SEA V.League.

It is no coincidence that Brazilian coach Jorge de Brito believes that the Philippine women's team has the ability to win the highest prize at the 33rd SEA Games. Without needing to call up naturalized American athletes, coach De Brito still has in his hands a star-studded squad including Jia De Guzman, Alyssa Solomon, Alleiah Malaluan... who have grown up in the domestic and Southeast Asian arenas.

In the past 20 years at the SEA Games arena, the Philippine women's volleyball team has not won any medals. However, over the past year, the team has been regularly training abroad and with a squad of players in very good form, the Philippine team hopes to create a big surprise at the 33rd SEA Games.

Women's volleyball will compete from December 10 to 19 in two groups: Thailand, Philippines, Singapore (Group A) and Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia (Group B).

The Vietnam men's volleyball team has just called up Tran Anh Tu (LPBank Ninh Binh) to replace libero Huynh Trung Truc. Playing as the main attacker, Tran Anh Tu is very good at passing and defending the back row.
