The West is about to have a flower and ornamental festival expected to welcome half a million visitors.

(Dan Tri) - According to the organizers, the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival is expected to welcome 500,000 visitors. This is not only an event for tourism but also directly linked to the socio-economic development goals of the province.

On the morning of December 5, Dong Thap province held a press conference for the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plants Festival in 2025. Following the success of the first festival held in 2023, the event aims to honor the flower and ornamental plant growing profession in Sa Dec; introduce and promote Sa Dec Flower Village to domestic and foreign tourists.

Speaking at the opening press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province, said that the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival is an important event not only for tourism but also directly related to the socio -economic development goals of the province, in the context that Sa Dec has many opportunities to develop green economy and agricultural tourism.

According to Ms. Trang, this year's festival has the theme "Colors of Flowers for a New Day". The Organizing Committee clearly identified the three main focuses of the festival as honoring the value of flower villages - an important foundation for Sa Dec's economy.

The event not only honors culture, but also aims to enhance the value of flower and ornamental products, standardize production processes and create sustainable livelihoods for people. Promote the image of Dong Thap - Sa Dec effectively and substantially.

Exhibitions, competitions and fairs are not only for experience but also to create transactions, cooperation and business connections.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap, the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival is not only a destination for sightseeing and enjoyment but also a story about a craft village of perseverance and pride.

"Each space and each program of the festival carries the message: Tradition is the foundation - Creativity is the driving force - Connection is the solution - Socio-economic efficiency is the ultimate goal," emphasized Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province.

The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival takes place from December 27 to January 4, 2026. The venue is Sa Dec Park. This is a provincial-level event with many impressive cultural, artistic and tourism activities, with 20 main activities and 12 supporting activities.

The event is expected to welcome 500,000 visitors, with outstanding activities such as displaying 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants; recreating the space of the old Sa Dec market and the old Sa Dec flower market.

Especially connecting with Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House to create a highlight to attract tourists with the activity "Night of telling a love story - Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House"; exhibition and performance of the province's national intangible cultural heritage such as: Southern amateur music art; Dong Thap folk songs; Long Hau commune boat building craft; exhibition displaying OCOP products, typical products of the Mekong Delta with 112 booths...
