The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival will be held on December 27, 2025 - January 4, 2026 in Sa Dec ward, Dong Thap province.
This year's Flower - Ornamental Festival has many outstanding activities, such as: Sa Dec Flower Space; displaying 1,000 varieties of ornamental flowers; ancient Sa Dec space; "Heritage Land" space; Hot air balloon activities; live show "A hundred years of flower village fragrance"; Display and exhibition of domestic and international flowers and ornamental plants; Sa Dec Flower - Ornamental Market; "Southern fragrance" culinary street; Hot air balloon activities with the theme "Sa Dec - flying up with thousands of flowers"; live show "A hundred years of flower village fragrance" ... and Conference connecting trade of flower - ornamental products with the participation of trade centers, supermarkets, distributors; 6 enterprises, cooperatives, flower and ornamental production and trading establishments...
The highlight is the display space of 1,000 flower varieties, with flower and ornamental varieties collected and displayed, including: Potted flowers, cut flowers, Bonsai trees, ornamental plants, orchids, succulents, cacti... Indoor plants, shaped fruit trees, colorful foliage plants... Through the exhibition, the Organizing Committee hopes to promote the Sa Dec flower village brand, honoring the biodiversity of the local ornamental flower industry.
The "Heritage Land" space promises to attract many visitors to experience and enjoy the art of Southern amateur music; Dong Thap folk songs; Long Hau boat and sampan building craft; Dinh An and Dinh Yen mat weaving craft; Thien Ho Duong and Doc Binh Kieu death anniversary; Go Thap Lady's Festival, etc.
In particular, the art program of the opening ceremony to welcome the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 27, 2025. Location at Sa Dec Square.
Director of Dong Thap Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang emphasized and shared: “The festival with many rich and attractive programs of activities is both an event to honor the ornamental flower growing profession that has existed for more than a hundred years, and also to orient the development of Sa Dec in the coming time; enhance the value chain of the ornamental flower industry combined with tourism development, creating conditions for all people to enjoy the benefits of the flower village, thereby contributing to promoting the image of Sa Dec flower village, creating more highlights and attractions for tourists, promising to welcome a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience during the Festival and Tet holiday, Spring comes”.
In particular, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap also emphasized that this year's festival, the Organizing Committee pays special attention to and emphasizes the honoring of the value of flower and ornamental village, in order to enhance the value of flower and ornamental production; promote the image of Sa Dec, Dong Thap... through exhibition activities,... towards connecting business between flower and ornamental growers and enterprises. The third goal is that, through the festival, we will mobilize social resources to organize the festival in a transparent manner, connect businesses to build brands, promote Sa Dec flower and ornamental plants and develop Dong Thap tourism sustainably.
At this year's Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival, there are also 14 other attractive activities, such as: The 2nd Flower Gate, Flower Street, and Beautiful Office Flower Garden Contest; Organizing the Artistic News Photography Contest in response to the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival in 2025; Exhibition of photo series, theme: Sa Dec - from Dong Khau Dao to the Flower Capital of the West and "Learning City"; Folk dance exchange program and "Song of the Nightingale" Festival; Parade "Women with Floral Ao Dai"; Organizing folk games, aiming to create a joyful atmosphere, connect the community and introduce local culture.
The first Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival will be held in 2023, attracting more than 245,000 visitors. This year's festival is expected to attract 500,000 visitors.
At the press conference, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province Le Ha Luan launched a vote for the 20 most typical OCOP products of Dong Thap province in 2025.
Accordingly, entities with OCOP products achieving 3 stars or more,
being produced, actually circulated and still within the OCOP recognition period at the time of voting.Voting criteria are based on 5 criteria, including: Regional connectivity
Raw materials – production capacity; Product quality – innovation; Green factor – sustainability – community impact and subject capacity – market strategy.Currently, Dong Thap province has 1,002 OCOP products with 3 stars or more (including 799 3-star products, 199 4-star products and 4 5-star products) of 44 entities. Up to now, 67% of OCOP entities participate in product trading through modern sales channels, such as supermarkets, convenience stores and 100% of the province's products have been put on e-commerce platforms.
