In recent times, Da Nang city has effectively implemented models such as "Green School", "Waste Classification at Source" and organized many activities to collect and recycle waste. These achievements have created a solid foundation for the city to pilot the program "Waste Classification and Collection" with the participation of 158 schools (including 80 kindergartens and 78 primary schools) in 13 wards and communes in the area.
At the workshop, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the city introduced an overview of the pilot program, emphasizing the focus on systematizing the process of classifying, collecting, storing and handing over recyclable waste. This is to ensure that schools implement synchronously, technically and in connection with the city's collection system.

Experts and representatives of schools participating in the pilot program shared their experiences in implementing the classification of domestic solid waste at source. They also provided guidance on treating food waste with microorganisms and presented their experiences in managing food waste generated at schools. The delegates clarified difficulties and obstacles and proposed appropriate solutions to help the city improve the process and serve as a basis for replicating the model in the future.
The pilot implementation of the program "Classification and collection of recyclable waste" in kindergartens and primary schools in the city is not only a requirement in the orientation of developing Da Nang into an environmental city, but also contributes to forming the habit of classifying waste, raising awareness of environmental protection for students from the youngest age.
