Responding to the requirements of comprehensive educational innovation
To implement Project 5, the total budget capital allocated to Thai Nguyen province in 2025 is over 57.8 billion VND. Of which, Sub-project 1 on "Innovation of activities, strengthening and developing ethnic boarding schools, semi-boarding schools, secondary schools with semi-boarding students and eliminating illiteracy for ethnic minority people" is assigned over 13.7 billion VND; Sub-project 2 on "Ethnic knowledge training; pre-university, university and postgraduate training to meet human resource needs for ethnic minority areas" is assigned over 33 billion VND; Sub-project 3 on "Project on developing vocational education and creating jobs for workers in ethnic minority and mountainous areas" is assigned nearly 11 billion VND.

After receiving the Decision on capital allocation to implement the contents of the Program, the Department of Education and Training allocated capital and assigned tasks to 7 schools (2 boarding high schools for ethnic minorities, 5 schools with semi-boarding students) and 13 Centers under the Department to implement the tasks. Up to now, the units have been implementing the purchase of equipment and organizing vocational training classes for workers.
According to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province, the organization and implementation of criteria on schools and education in implementing the National Target Programs in the province, especially Project 5, has had a positive impact in building an educational environment that meets the requirements of comprehensive educational innovation today, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.
Accordingly, boarding schools for ethnic minorities, boarding schools for ethnic minorities and general schools with semi-boarding students are supplemented, upgraded, renovated with facilities, invested in teaching equipment to create conditions for students from ethnic minority and mountainous areas to have better living, boarding and studying conditions, reduce the number of dropouts, and meet the need to improve the comprehensive education quality of schools.
Promote economic development, ensure social security
Besides meeting the requirements of comprehensive educational innovation, the implementation of Project 5 also contributes significantly to promoting economic development and ensuring social security in the province.
In particular, primary vocational training and under 3 months focus on recruiting and training in occupations that are strengths of the locality such as: Raising livestock, poultry, and waterfowl (free-range chickens, fattening cows, raising buffaloes for breeding, raising goats and pigs, raising and preventing and treating diseases for chickens and waterfowl); growing specialty vegetables, tubers, and fruits and processed products from vegetables, tubers, and fruits (oranges, tangerines, seedless persimmons, apricots, arrowroot, fragrant green squash, water spinach, bananas, etc.); growing tea and processed products from tea plants; growing medicinal plants and products from medicinal plants (turmeric, ginger, Solanum procumbens, bitter melon, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, lemongrass, yellow flower tea, rock ginger, etc.).

After receiving vocational training, workers have proactively expanded production scale, increased livestock herds, applied science and technology to production and processing of agricultural products to increase income and stabilize family economy; models and cooperatives have made the economy more sustainable with agricultural products recognized as meeting VietGap standards, OCOP products...
In addition, direct support activities for ethnic minority workers to work abroad under contracts through enterprises providing services to send workers to work abroad under contracts have also been effectively implemented by localities and enterprises, contributing to the propaganda and raising awareness of workers about the activities of sending workers to work abroad under contracts, increasing the number of workers in the province working abroad every year, helping workers have stable jobs, increase income for themselves and their families, and contribute to the development of the local economy.
It can be affirmed that the implementation of Project 5 in the National Target Program 2025 is creating substantial changes in educational development, improving the quality of human resources and expanding livelihood opportunities for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Thai Nguyen province. When educational infrastructure is strengthened, when workers are equipped with vocational skills and sustainable employment opportunities, the program not only contributes to poverty reduction and improving living standards but also creates a solid foundation for the locality to develop its socio-economy in a comprehensive and sustainable manner. This will be an important driving force to help Thai Nguyen continue to narrow the regional gap, realizing the goal of "leaving no one behind" in the development process.
