Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, affirmed that after more than 6 years of becoming a member of the "UNESCO Creative Cities Network", Hanoi has had many activities to concretize its commitments to building a Creative City.
The city has been affirming its position as one of the dynamic and creative Cities and Capitals of Asia. The city has promoted creative design activities, connecting cooperation opportunities between cities in the Network.

In 2024, the City established an Advisory Council of experts, built creative activity spaces..., built criteria and creative activity spaces.
Establish the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center, build a network of Hanoi Creative Cultural Spaces connecting organizations, individuals, experts, artists, and community groups operating in the field of creative design; attract and connect local and international creative resources; introduce, share, and support the creative community to develop and expand, with the highlight being the organization of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival.
Ms. Bach Lien Huong added, The results achieved in recent times have been achieved thanks to the support and advice of many experts in the field of creative design. The city appreciates these valuable contributions.
The Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports hopes that the exchange will help introduce good practices in organizing the Hanoi Creative Design Festival as a model of creative and innovative urban festivals. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for Creative Cities in the field of design and related industries to share festival organization strategies, challenges, ways to engage the community, as well as the role of creative festivals in urban development, youth empowerment, promoting cultural startups and international cooperation.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Jonathan Baker - UNESCO Representative in Vietnam said that Hanoi's recognition as a UNESCO Creative City in the field of Design has opened a new chapter - where creativity is no longer a supporting factor for development, but becomes a key driving force.
" Over the years, the City has nurtured a dynamic creative ecosystem: festivals that enliven public spaces, networks that connect communities, and initiatives that empower young designers to envision and create new futures for their city. Creative festivals may only last for a week or a season, but their impact is long-lasting" - said the Head of UNESCO Representative Office in Vietnam.
Mr. Jonathan Baker said that the conference is an opportunity for cities to learn from each other about public-private-community partnership models, festivals that put youth and communities at the center, as well as experiences in urban transformation through creativity.

He emphasized that one of the important results of the joint working process is to build a common Festival Framework - not a rigid template, but a flexible orientation for each city to adjust according to its cultural identity and development goals.
At the conference, with the support of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam, experts from the Creative Cities Network contributed interesting sharing on festival organization experiences, aiming to build a common framework for festivals that are inclusive, sustainable and have a positive impact on society.
