Announcement and awarding of collective trademark protection certificate "Gia Thuy - Ninh Binh Pottery"

(CLO) On December 5, in Gia Tuong commune, the National Institute of Intellectual Property coordinated with the Department of Science and Technology of Ninh Binh to organize a conference to announce and award the certificate of protection for the collective trademark "Gia Thuy - Ninh Binh Pottery".

Gia Thuy pottery was formed in the late 1950s, when Thanh Hoa artisans came to settle down and brought with them traditional pottery techniques.

The characteristic of this ceramic line is its natural gloss, created from rare local golden brown clay and skilled firing techniques.

The leaders of the Intellectual Property Department awarded the Certificate of Trademark Registration for the product "Gia Thuy - Ninh Binh Pottery ".

Gia Thuy Ceramics Cooperative currently has nearly 60 members, becoming the core of the production and business linkage of the craft village. The locality has also planned a concentrated production area of ​​5,000 m² and a raw material area of ​​10,000 m² separate from the residential area to reduce pollution and create conditions for sustainable development.

In order to build and protect the brand, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province approved the scientific and technological task "Creating, managing and developing the collective trademark Gia Thuy Ceramics", chaired by the National Institute of Intellectual Property, to be implemented from December 2023.

Up to now, the collective trademark "Gia Thuy - Ninh Binh Pottery" has been granted protection certificate No. 566186 by the National Office of Intellectual Property on August 21, 2025.

This is the basis for standardizing production processes, improving competitiveness and expanding markets for local ceramic products.

The trademark protection not only affirms the value of Gia Thuy pottery but also contributes to preserving the craft village, while creating conditions for deeper participation in the craft village tourism chain of Ninh Binh.

At the conference, the leaders of the Intellectual Property Department awarded the Certificate of Trademark Registration for the product "Gia Thuy - Ninh Binh Pottery".
