Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, said: " VN-25 has special significance as it is held on the occasion of the Association's 60th anniversary. After six decades of accompanying the country, Vietnamese photography has gradually integrated into the international community, and VN-25 is the clearest proof of the vitality, prestige and influence of the country's photography. The presence of leaders, international guests and the art community is a great source of encouragement for photographers across the country.
Although the world is still experiencing many fluctuations after the economic crisis, VN-25 still recorded strong growth with 13,236 entries from 1,054 authors from 31 countries and territories, an increase of nearly 30% compared to VN-23.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, these numbers affirm the prestige of the contest, and at the same time show that Vietnam is increasingly becoming an attractive creative destination for global photographers.
The VN-25 competition continues to be sponsored by FIAP, with medals and Honorary Certificates awarded in four categories: Color Freedom, Monochrome Freedom, Travel and Portrait. The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists determined that the large number of works must be accompanied by high artistic quality, while applying technology throughout the entire selection process.
The Organizing Committee has established 4 independent Jury Panels consisting of prestigious photographers from Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Spain and Indonesia. All judging processes are conducted on a dedicated online platform, ensuring absolute objectivity and independence.

From more than 13,000 works, the Council selected only 663 photos for exhibition, equivalent to 5% (1/20). This is considered the "golden ratio", reflecting the strict screening and high artistic standards of the contest.
In the end, 47 awards from the VAPA and FIAP systems were given to authors from 9 countries: Croatia, Taiwan, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye and Vietnam.
Although many veteran Vietnamese artists such as Ly Hoang Long, Tran Phong, and Dao Tien Dat did not participate as judges, Vietnamese authors still won 34 awards, demonstrating a strong and enduring creative force.
However, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong also frankly admitted: Compared to countries with developed photography industries such as the Netherlands, Hungary or Germany, Vietnamese photography needs to boldly innovate creative thinking, avoid routines, and increase the depth of ideas and processing techniques.

The photo collection selected for the exhibition at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology includes 250 of the most representative works, representing 663 works selected from the contest. Despite the limited exhibition space, the Organizing Committee still ensures that the artistic value of all works is fully disclosed on digital platforms and official publications.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, VN-25 is not only a photo contest but also a cultural and artistic bridge between Vietnam and the world, contributing to enhancing exchange, peace and development according to the foreign policy orientation of the Party and State.
