Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival 2025: Honoring the century-old flower village, creating a tourism boost

The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival brings a series of unique activities, honoring the century-old flower and ornamental craft and orienting tourism development, creating great attraction during Tet season.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province, the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival 2025, the province's biggest cultural event of the year, will take place from December 27 to January 4, 2026, at Sa Dec Ward Square, Dong Thap province.

This year’s festival plays an important role in the strategy of building the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plants brand. The festival not only honors the more than 100-year-old flower and ornamental plant craft, but also promotes eco-tourism and experiences, promoting the image of Dong Thap to domestic and foreign tourists.

According to Ms. Uyen Trang, the event also introduces typical products, culture - cuisine, craft villages and the beauty of local life. Through the Festival, the province aims to attract investment capital into tourism - service models, improve the value chain of ornamental flowers, and contribute to socio-economic growth.

The Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival 2025 is a strategic step, both preserving identity and creating a foundation for the development of the flower and ornamental industry in a professional, modern and sustainable direction, while providing a rich experiential space, inheriting the quintessence from the first season but with more elaborate investment in scale and creativity.

The event is expected to attract more than 500,000 visitors, with a series of outstanding activities such as displaying 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants, recreating the space of the old Sa Dec market and the traditional flower market.

The highlight of the festival is the connection with Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House through the program "Night of telling a love story - Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House", which promises to create great attraction for tourists.

In addition, the festival also has an exhibition space and performances of national intangible cultural heritages of Dong Thap such as Southern amateur music, Dong Thap folk songs, boat building craft of Long Hau commune; and an area displaying OCOP products and specialties of the Mekong Delta with 112 booths...

The festival takes place at Sa Dec Park (Ton Duc Thang Street, Tan Binh Hamlet), lasting for 9 days, right at the peak of Tet flower season - the time when Sa Dec is most beautiful in the year. This is expected to be a big tourism boost, contributing to a sharp increase in the number of visitors to Dong Thap province at the end of the year.
