
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that Ho Chi Minh City has long been known not only for its vibrant and culturally diverse lifestyle but also for its generous and hospitable spirit - factors that create the unique appeal of this more than 300-year-old city. The intersection between history and modernity, between tradition and creativity has contributed to creating its own identity, making Ho Chi Minh City an inspiring destination for tourists who love to explore .
In recent years, the city’s tourism industry has continuously innovated, expanded promotional activities, developed unique products and improved service quality. Along with diversifying experiences, Ho Chi Minh City has paid special attention to building a civilized and friendly tourism environment, suitable for the position of “Asia’s leading vibrant tourism city”.

Accordingly, from 2024, the program "Each tourism service business unit is a friendly destination" will be deployed and expanded by the Department of Tourism in 2025. The goal is to strengthen the role of localities, enhance corporate social responsibility; at the same time, honor good service units, create a professional and sustainable tourism environment.
The evaluation is based on a 100-point criteria set, including 4 groups of contents: Product and service quality; service attitude; environmental protection; community and social responsibility. Evaluation requirements include typical products, attractive experiences, technology applications, safety and security standards, public hygiene, environmental protection and waste management. Units that score 80 points or more and complete the required criteria will be recognized with the title of "Friendly Tourist Destination".
By 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will have 31 recognized establishments. These are all typical establishments that meet the criteria of quality, safety, environment and friendliness in service. Recognized establishments will receive an identification symbol and be given priority in communication on the official channels of the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry.
Accordingly, friendly destinations in 2025 include tourist and entertainment areas such as: Suoi Tien Tourist Area, Dam Sen Cultural Park, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden, Ao Dai Museum, Fine Arts Museum, City Theater, Saigon Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and Nguyen Hue Walking Street.
The group of outstanding accommodation and service establishments includes hotels that meet service and environmental standards such as: Rex, Majestic, Caravelle, Continental, New World, Sheraton Saigon and Park Hyatt.

The culinary and shopping sector includes Ben Thanh Market, Binh Tay Market; night food streets, and a number of shopping centers. In addition, there are river tours, Bach Dang Wharf, cultural and artistic spaces and community tourism spots in Can Gio, Thu Duc and Nha Be. These units are selected based on criteria of service quality, service attitude, safety - hygiene and community responsibility, contributing to spreading the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a friendly and rich experience.
In addition, the highlight of this year's destination announcement event is the accompaniment of Grab Vietnam in the role of supporting communication and promoting digital transformation for destinations and tourism service businesses - friendly destinations. Accordingly, with the advantage of technology and digital ecosystem, Grab Vietnam will contribute to promoting information about friendly destinations of Ho Chi Minh City on the application, helping tourists easily access safe and convenient services; at the same time, supporting businesses to increase their ability to reach customers in the context of strong digitalization.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, expressed her hope that the 2025 program, in collaboration with Grab Vietnam, will create momentum to promote service quality and digital transformation in the tourism industry. At the same time, the Department also hopes that the press agencies will continue to accompany it to spread the image of a friendly, vibrant and experience-rich Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists.
