Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Quang Trung Campaign in Lam Dong.

On the morning of December 6, at Lac Thien village, D'ran commune, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Military Region 7 to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of Quang Trung Campaign to build houses for households that were completely collapsed due to natural disasters in the province.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Colonel Thai Thanh Duc, Deputy Chief of Politics of Military Region 7.

On the side of Lam Dong province, there were comrades: Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

The households receiving support to build new houses at this groundbreaking ceremony include: Mr. Mai Ngoc Hiep, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Duy, Ms. Dang Thi Be, Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia. All four households reside in Lac Thien village, D'ran commune. They are the families that suffered the most severe damage to their houses in the historic flood on November 19.

Up to now, Lam Dong has organized 3 groundbreaking campaigns for the Quang Trung Campaign, with a total of 11 households receiving support. Previously, on December 2-3, the Provincial People's Committee organized a groundbreaking ceremony to build houses for the first 7 households in Hoa Lac village, Quang Lap commune and Quang Lac village, D'ran commune.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi affirmed that today, the Party Committee, the Government and the People, especially the people who suffered damage caused by floods, were truly moved by the timely attention of the Party and State leaders. The direct presence and timely encouragement of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son is a very precious thing, a source of encouragement for the people who suffered damage in the area to feel more warm-hearted.

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the recent historic floods have caused huge damage to Lam Dong. From lives, property to the transport infrastructure system. At times, the administrative center of the province was almost cut off. The estimated damage caused by floods in Lam Dong is about 1,500 billion VND. However, with the attention from the Central and localities, the province has urgently taken decisive and drastic measures to gradually overcome the situation, ensuring that no one goes hungry or cold.

Regarding support for collapsed and damaged houses, Lam Dong has taken timely action. Up to now, 11 households in the province have been supported to build houses immediately after the storm and flood. Although facing many difficulties, the locality strives to complete the construction of new houses for people before January 15, 2026; and complete the repair of damaged houses before December 20, 2025.

Receiving support from the local authorities to build a house, Mr. Mai Ngoc Hiep shared: “After the recent natural disaster, our family's house was completely washed away. Our family experienced loss, confusion, and hardship upon hardship. With the timely support from the Party, the State, and the local authorities, our family was very moved. Being able to build a house and have a new house will motivate our family to continue to strive in life.”

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Colonel Thai Thanh Duc, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 7, said that after the flood, the Military Region mobilized 3,700 officers and soldiers to support and overcome the consequences in Lam Dong. The cooperation and consensus of the Party Committee, the government, and the people demonstrated their resilience in preventing and fighting storms and floods. Through natural disasters and hardships, the solidarity of the people, the government, and the army continued to shine.

“Regarding housing support for people, Military Region 7 commits to ensuring the best quality and durability; the most effective use of support resources; and the fastest construction progress. Where people have difficulty, there are soldiers; where people need, there are soldiers,” Colonel Thai Thanh Duc, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 7, pledged.

According to the latest report, in the recent historic flood, in Lam Dong province, 23 houses were completely collapsed and needed to be rebuilt; 84 houses were damaged and needed to be repaired. Implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign" launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to rapidly rebuild and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged by recent natural disasters in the Central provinces, Lam Dong agreed to support 120 million VND/house completely collapsed; from 20 to 40 million VND/house damaged.
