On the afternoon of December 6, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son worked with leaders of Lam Dong province on the implementation of socio -economic development targets for 2025 and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring people's lives.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Party Committees, authorities of Lam Dong province and the armed forces in the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of the recent natural disaster . Regarding the construction of new houses and repair of houses for the affected people, the locality has taken drastic and urgent measures and is determined to complete them earlier than the time frame set by the Prime Minister .

The Deputy Prime Minister requested Lam Dong province to continue reviewing, making statistics, and having plans to fully support people after floods; pay attention to remote areas to ensure all students can go to school; the agricultural sector has a plan to supply plant varieties, materials, and fertilizers so that people can restore production in the best way possible; at the same time, review plans and have plans to solidly build infrastructure, especially key traffic routes to respond long-term and firmly to natural disasters; coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to review the flood discharge process of lakes and dams in the area and have a plan to reinforce old, degraded lakes and dams...

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that for issues beyond their authority, localities need to propose to the Central Government for timely support and handling.

Along with overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, the Deputy Prime Minister requested Lam Dong to focus and make the highest efforts to complete the socio-economic targets for 2025, while suggesting that Lam Dong has strengths in exporting and importing agricultural products, which is an important driving force to promote socio-economic development. The province needs to make great efforts to promote public investment disbursement, especially for key national projects and highways in the area.

As of December 5, Lam Dong had 7 groups of socio-economic targets that met and exceeded the plan; including important groups of targets, such as total state budget revenue of more than 32 trillion VND, reaching 113.3% compared to the local plan, up 20% compared to the central plan; GRDP per capita reached more than 109 million VND, reaching 109.3% of the plan, up 13.6% over the same period in 2024.

However, there are 3 groups of indicators that Lam Dong province finds difficult to complete, including GRDP growth rate; rate of public schools meeting national standards and rate of public investment disbursement in 2025.

Regarding the damage and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi said that the recent historic floods caused great damage to the locality; from people's lives and property to the traffic infrastructure system. The estimated damage caused by floods in Lam Dong is about 1,500 billion VND. However, with the attention of the Central Government and localities, the province has urgently and resolutely taken action, gradually overcoming the damage, and soon stabilizing people's lives .

Lam Dong proposed that the Government have a special mechanism to support local people affected by natural disasters in debt settlement and debt extension. Regarding transport infrastructure, the locality needs support from relevant ministries and branches, because of the potential risk of landslides.

As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, on the same morning, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the "Quang Trung Campaign" to build four new houses for households whose houses had collapsed or completely collapsed due to recent floods in Lac Thien 1 village, D'Ran commune, one of the most severely damaged localities in Lam Dong province.
