Tropical depression is moving into the East Sea

The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has asked localities to be ready to respond to the tropical depression that is moving into the East Sea.

On the afternoon of December 6, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting informed that in the East of the Central Philippines, there is a tropical depression that is tending to move into the East Sea. On the afternoon of December 6, the center of the tropical depression is at coordinates 11.8 degrees North latitude - 125.9 degrees East longitude, wind force level 6, gust level 8, moving west at a speed of 5-10km/hour.

The meteorological agency said that on December 7, the tropical depression will move west-southwest into the central Philippines. On December 8, the tropical depression will enter the eastern sea area of ​​the central East Sea, with winds of level 6, gusts of 8, and will maintain its intensity and speed of 20-25km/hour in the following days. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from early morning on December 8, the eastern sea area of ​​the central East Sea will have winds of level 6, gusts of 8, waves of 2-4m, and rough seas. Ships in the danger zone may encounter thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and large waves.

*On the afternoon of December 6, the National Civil Defense Steering Committee sent a telegram to the People's Committees of provinces and cities from Quang Tri to An Giang requesting proactive response to the tropical depression near the East Sea.

The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense requested provinces, cities and relevant ministries and branches to strictly manage vehicles going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of vehicles and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of the tropical depression so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.

The danger zone from the afternoon of December 6 to December 8 is from latitude 10.5 to 13 and east of longitude 118. The National Civil Defense Steering Committee also requested to prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when there is a situation.
