As technology reshapes how we access information and entertainment, search trends for 2025 indicate that content produced in Vietnam will attract significant attention.

Notably, the film category saw "Red Rain" appear simultaneously in three rankings: "General Trends," "Films (General)," and "Vietnamese Films," reflecting the strong appeal of a work that explores historical themes and national pride. Many other Vietnamese films, such as "Ancestral House," "Ghost Lamp," "Underground Tunnel," and "Battle in the Air," also had high search volumes, demonstrating audience interest in works close to local life and culture. At the same time, the "Films (General)" ranking also recorded significant search volumes for several prominent international films such as "When Life Gives You a Tangerine," "Squid Game 2," "Bending Down," and "Reverse Love."

“The 2025 ‘Search of the Year’ list reveals an emotional shift. Vietnamese users are not only using Google to find information and learn new knowledge, but also to reconnect with their roots, to affirm their personal identity and national pride through their entertainment and lifestyle choices,” shared Marc Woo, General Manager of Google Vietnam.

In the "Travel" category, the top 10 most searched destinations are all domestic locations, led by Da Lat, followed by An Giang, Mui Ne, Da Nang, Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ca Mau, Phu Quoc, and Vung Tau. This trend shows that Vietnamese people are prioritizing trips that connect them with nature and local culture.

Google publishes its "Search Trends of the Year" list at the end of each year, based on a large number of searches throughout that year. In addition to the "Search Trends of the Year" list, which highlights the top search trends of the year, Google also offers other tools that provide an overview of past and present search trends, both regionally and globally.
