The trend of searching for Vietnamese-made content attracts attention
As technology reshapes access to information and entertainment, 2025 search trends show that Vietnamese-produced content attracts significant interest.
The highlight of the film category is the film “Red Rain” appearing simultaneously in three rankings: “General Trends”, “Movies (General)” and “Vietnamese Movies”, reflecting the great appeal of a work that exploits historical materials and national pride. Many other Vietnamese films such as “Ancestral House”, “Desolate Lights”, “Tunnels” and “Death Battle in the Sky” also have high search volume, showing the audience’s interest in works that are close to local life and culture. At the same time, the “Movies (General)” ranking also recorded high search volume for many typical international films such as “When Life Gives You a Tangerine”, “Squid Game 2”, “Bending Over” and “Nghich Ai”.

The movie "Red Rain" appeared in three of Google's "Trending" charts.
For the theme “Concert”, programs imbued with history, tradition and national spirit such as “V Concert”, “Fatherland in the Heart” and “Vietnam in Me” took the lead. This shows that audiences not only seek out art programs as a form of entertainment, but also as a space to connect, express patriotism and national pride in their own way.
In the “Songs” category, songs with cultural and historical elements such as “Bac Bling”, “Con gi dep hon” and “Noi dau giu hoa binh ” are among the most searched. This result shows that compositions close to the spiritual life of Vietnamese people continue to hold an important position in music enjoyment habits. Songs with modern influences such as “Mat ket ket”, “Ga san ca”, “Mot doi vi em” and “Tai sinh” also attract a large number of searches, reflecting the diversity in popular tastes.
Which keywords are leading on Google search?
Search data in 2025 reflects the openness and initiative of Vietnamese people in grasping information and trends on social networks. In the topic “What is”, leading keywords include “A80”, “8386”, “lowkey” or “skip leg day”.

In the “News” category, weather information is searched and updated frequently, with data related to Typhoon Wipha, Typhoon Kalmaegi, Typhoon Kajiki, Typhoon No. 10 and Typhoon No. 11 being among the most searched. Google Search is not only a source of essential information, but also a platform to help users build practical skills and digital capabilities in a context where technology plays an increasingly important role. This is reflected in the high level of interest in the topic “How to”, where users search for a variety of activities from making “lychee tea”, making “plum syrup”, “lychee jelly” to making “mid-autumn lanterns”, in addition to new searches such as “how to make AI videos ”.
“The 2025 Year in Search list shows an emotional shift. Vietnamese users not only use Google to find information and learn new knowledge, but also to find their roots, to affirm their personal identity and national pride through their entertainment choices and lifestyle,” said Marc Woo, General Director of Google Vietnam.
In the topic of “Travel”, the top 10 most searched destinations are all domestic locations, led by Da Lat, followed by An Giang, Mui Ne, Da Nang, Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ca Mau, Phu Quoc and Vung Tau. This trend shows that Vietnamese people are prioritizing trips that are connected and close to nature and local culture.
Google publishes its “Year of Searches” list at the end of each year based on a variety of searches during that year. In addition to the “Year of Searches” list, which highlights the top search trends of the year, Google has several other tools that provide a snapshot of past and current search trends, regionally, or globally. The “Year of Searches” tool does not identify searchers for queries, as we use an anonymous aggregate algorithm based on the number of searches for a particular query.
