Tropical depression changes direction, gusts to level 8, moves quickly over the sea of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa

Accordingly, at 1:00 p.m. on December 3, the center of the tropical depression was at about 12.9 degrees North latitude; 110.0 degrees East longitude, over the sea of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (39 - 49 km/h), gusting to level 8. The tropical depression moved slowly in the West Southwest direction at a speed of 15-20 km/h.

At 7:00 p.m. on December 3, the tropical depression was in the sea area of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa provinces. The tropical depression moved southwest at a speed of about 15-20 km/h and gradually weakened into a low pressure area. Wind force was below level 6. The affected area was the sea area of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa provinces; disaster risk level 3.

Due to the impact of the tropical depression, the sea area of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa provinces has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8; waves 2-4m high, rough sea.

Vessels operating in the above mentioned danger zones are susceptible to the effects of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

In addition, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from 2:40 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. on December 3, the provinces/cities of Hue, Da Nang and Gia Lai will continue to have rain. There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in the above areas.

Specifically, the accumulated rainfall in the above area is generally from 20-50mm, in some places over 80mm. Warning of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes in many communes and wards of Hue city including: Chan May - Lang Co, Hung Loc, Khe Tre, Loc An, Phu Loc, Vinh Loc; Long Quang, Nam Dong.

Communes and wards in Da Nang city at risk of flash floods and landslides include: Hai Van, Hoa Khanh, Song Kon, Song Vang; Ba Na, Chien Dan, Dai Loc, Dong Duong, Duc Phu, Duy Xuyen, Ha Nha, Hiep Duc, Hoa Tien, Hoa Vang, Nong Son, Nui Thanh, An Khe, Lien Chieu, Son Tra, Phu Ninh, Phuoc Chanh, Phuoc Hiep, Phuoc Tra, Que Phuoc, Que Son, Que Son Trung, Son Cam Ha, Tam Anh, Tam My, Tam Xuan, Tay Ho, Thang Phu, Thanh Binh, Thu Bon, Thuong Duc, Tien Phuoc, Tra Doc, Tra Giap, Tra Lien, Tra My, Viet An.

Flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives, cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

The hydrometeorological agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to have prevention and response measures.
